I was minding my own business commissioning the very talented Hidenseek to do a special piece for our new born boy when we got chatting and she found out my art background and that I did make things....

I trained at Central St Martins college of art a very long time ago and went to work in TV but due to my health I had to quit it all and had a full time job of watching daytime TV instead of making it. To keep sane I started free embroidery courses and it took me right back to designing and making. Eloise (hidenseek) was really interested and practically pushed me to open up an Etsy shop and I did.


Tobyboo is just myself but it is evolving and growing, new stockists, great new products combined with a new business head thanks to Doug Richard’s School for Creative Start ups I was one of the students chosen for the first year of the course.

Tobyboo started with tiny stitches but the needle really kicked in September 2011 and since then recognition from Mary Portas has reinforced that I do have something rather special.
