About

Struggling to keep my head in the clouds and feet on the ground...at the same time.

I started my shop in October of 2010, when it became clear to me that my little hobby was quickly outgrowing itself, so that I could both share it with others and try to make a small profit at the same time. Since then, I've almost been at a loss of what my "brand" is--and after a long-thought-over shop name change, I finally figured it out.

I am a nerd.

And I say that with pride. I love fairy tales, love to see them reinvented. I love my fandoms. Lord of the Rings, Doctor Who, Star Wars, Once Upon a Time... I think you get the point. There's a lot.

I'm also an avid reader, which opens up a whole new realm of geeky possibilities. I try to incorporate these things I love into what I make, which is a slow process since I've just recently changed my shop name, but I'm definitely a lot better off making things that share the stories and characters I love with everyone.

Welcome to Fairytales & Fandoms Jewelry! I make hand-stamped and strung geeky jewelry ranging from quote cuffs to stamped pendants to sparkly pieces of elegance, all inspired by my favorite movies, TV shows, books, and other favorite fandoms.

My Once Upon A Time inspired pieces will differ from their inspiration piece, as I am (obviously) not in the costume department at ABC; however, I try to get as close as I can to whatever piece I’m trying to recreate.

Hand stamped jewelry is very different from engraved jewelry or even machine stamped jewelry; it involves forcefully striking a metal stamp against a metal blank. Thus, you can expect to see slight variations between pieces and a few less-than-perfect lines, because that’s the beauty of handmade jewelry. This, of course, means that even if a quote is repeated on six different necklaces, each will truly be unique and special.

Payment
I accept PayPal and direct checkout credit card payments. I do not see or have access to any personal or financial information beyond your shipping address and the email address used for your Etsy account. Items are shipped once I have received notification of payment.
Shipping
I print all of my shipping labels through Etsy because it’s hassle-free and gives me (and you) super-handy tracking numbers. I ship USPS First Class and First Class International.

International customers are responsible for any/all customs fees. Also, addresses need to be translated into English in order for the shipping label service to accept them as valid. If I have not received a valid address within five days after I contact you to let you know that it is not valid, then I will cancel the order and your money will be refunded. Sounds harsh, yes, but I want to make sure that your purchase actually gets to you, and gets to you in a timely manner!

Due to recent hikes in the cost of postage, my shipping prices have gone up slightly. If the prices change again, I will adjust my shipping prices as well.

I am not responsible if the post office loses a package, or if it stolen from your mailbox. If you are concerned about a package being lost or stolen, please convo me BEFORE purchasing to ask about purchasing insurance or delivery confirmation.

Please remember that shipping prices do not just cover the cost of postage. The cost of materials for shipping, such as envelopes, packing tape, boxes/bags, etc. are factored in to the total shipping cost.
Refunds and Exchanges
I will accept returns on any non-custom, non-earring order within 45 days of purchase. Just send me a convo, and once I have received the piece (in its original condition), I will issue the refund minus shipping costs.

I do not accept returns on earrings due to health reasons.

If you would like to make an exchange, convo me (also within 45 days of purchase), and once I have received the item you wish to exchange (it its original condition), I will either refund you the difference (if the new item is less expensive) or charge you the difference (if it is more expensive), with shipping costs for the new item paid by you.

I do not accept returns on custom names, dates, quotes, birthdays, etc. because the item(s) are personalized for you and cannot be resold.

If your item arrives broken or breaks due to a fault of mine(whether custom or not), let me know and I will be more than happy to repair the piece at no cost to you. Convo me and I will let you know about shipping it back.

If I have made a mistake on a custom order, I will be happy to remake the piece for free. If the mistake is on your end, however, I will not be able to replace it for free. If you get your custom order and you don’t like it, or the metal reacts with your skin, or you are allergic to it (I will ALWAYS put allergy warnings for products containing nickel), I cannot refund the item since it has nothing to do with my workmanship (sorry!).

If you are unhappy with your purchase for any reason, please convo me prior to leaving feedback and I will be more than happy to try to fix the problem. I want my customers to be happy and to have a product they love, and to come back again, so please don’t hesitate to talk it out with me first!
Additional policies and FAQs
I am happy to take custom orders on hand stamped pieces. They are so easy to customize, and while I have a wild imagination, I can only think of so many quotes!

Having said that, I do not do custom orders that use any kind of profanity/coarse/otherwise rude language. I would love to do a few key quotes from Supernatural, for example, but I also want my products to be family-friendly, something I wouldn’t mind my mom or pastor or professor or someone else’s mom seeing. I can, however, recommend a few other Etsians who would be happy to stamp your quote for you if it contains language—just convo me. I should also offer the disclaimer that I don’t think any less of those who do stamp things that use mature language—it’s just something personal for me.

Custom orders on strung pieces of jewelry are a teensy bit more complicated. I may have to buy supplies or search for a particular component, which may require payment to be split into half-and-half or something of the sort in order to cover costs. Convo me if you have something you’d like me to make, and I will probably bombard you with about seventeen different questions (hopefully a hyperbolic statement) before giving you a price, timeline, and any other applicable information.

If you have any other questions for me that aren't covered here, please feel free to ask me and I'll get back to you as soon as possible! Thanks!
