Announcement   My art is the slow and careful way I talk about the things that move me. At work in my studio I am reflecting on the many mundane or profound moments of my daily life, contemplating my convictions and ideals, and distilling this tumult of thoughts into simple images that embody solutions for or perhaps relief from this barrage of experiences, fears, expectations, questions... that occupy my psyche. I am interested in the human condition and how it affects and is affected by the natural world.

This is just adorable! I actually live in Alaska, where this artist grew up, and she just embodies fireweed to me. It was shipped quickly, packaged well and the artist convo'd me on when it would ship, and then when it actually did. I highly recommend this seller.

About

Carving A Career From My Art

I have always been an artist and I never imagined making my living any other way. As a mother of two elementary school aged daughters, I am especially grateful to not only be doing what I love, but to also be working from home. Etsy is one of many venues I am pursuing to get my work out into the world, and quite frankly, to pay the bills.

I love working with bits and scraps, melding there many stories together into something new. I am a fiber fanatic and am always excited to take your favorite old shirt or curtain and integrate it into my art work.

It is paramount to me that every customer is satisfied if not thrilled, with the work I am selling. I make every piece with a mind to quality, durability, and longevity. Since in much of my work (winged dolls included) I am using reused materials, I want to assure potential customers that all materials are cleaned and checked for holes, tears etc.. before I incorporate them into a piece. Everything is made in a smoke free environment. I am a huge proponent of what Etsy offers in the art world. My goal is to support and reconfirm the viability of this new grass roots art movement with each and every sale I make.
