About

I press letters.

I'm a neuroscientist dabbling in printing and design. I learned letterpress printing at the wonderful San Francisco Center for the Book. I sell prints to make my hobby a little more affordable, and because letterpress lends itself to more copies than I could possibly use myself!

I chose the name Topiary Press because I like working with type, sculpting and pruning it into fanciful shapes.

Shipping
For shipments within the U.S., I ship USPS First-Class Mail, which typically has 3- to 5-day delivery, or you can upgrade to Priority Mail for estimated 2-day shipping (this does usually make it in 2 days, depending on your location, though USPS does not guarantee it). Both of these services come with tracking.

For international shipments, I ship USPS First-Class International. The expected delivery time varies by destination, but to give you some historical data, packages to Canada have generally made it within 7-9 days and packages to Europe have made it within 7-12 days. Depending on the destination country, tracking information may be available all the way to delivery, or it may only be reported up to the point at which the package leaves the U.S. Buyers are responsible for any customs and import taxes that may apply.

Most of the "shipping" fee I charge goes to packaging materials for the letterpress prints, which are sandwiched between sheets of sturdy foam core and packed in a large bubble mailer. Because of this, all additional prints after the first one ship free!
