About Silhouettes Clothing Co.
History:
Silhouettes Clothing Co started in 1995 as a mail order company exclusively focusing on late 19th century undergarments (thus the name "Silhouettes").

From August 2003 to present Silhouettes has developed a well deserved international reputation for clothing the top Jack Sparrow impersonators. Silhouettes' products have been seen on the Discovery Channel, History Channel, 2007 Taurus World Stunt Awards and 2007 VH1 Movie Awards.

Philosophy:
Above all else, great fabric is critical. Without the right fabric content, weave & weight, it doesn't matter how nice the pattern, trim or buttons are. You must start with the right fabric. Second, you must use quality construction techniques. After that, yes the trim and buttons are also very important.

Owner:
Kate has been sewing since she was 5 and began creating historic costumes and reproductions when she was only 10. She has a natural ability and gift to replicate existing costumes and designs with amazing accuracy. Due to the exceptional demand for her costumes, she is currently focusing primarily on Pirates of the Caribbean costumes.

Her work experience includes corporate level marketing and history museum publicity, costume design and living history. She has a B.S. degree in Business Administration, Marketing from California State University, Long Beach.
