Torc Emporium - From Collecting To Creating

I've been collecting and working with beads, fibers, and other natural materials since I was a kid. I've always been fascinated by gemstones, fibers, and glass - and as a naturally creative person, I leaned towards those materials to create with.

After many years of building fine art and jewelry pieces for friends and family, I worked hard to develop a materials collection that would allow me to offer my work here on Etsy.

Torc Emporium is all about connecting the 'right now' to the eternal past. I am fascinated by our shared ancestry, and I love working with primitive and ancient spiritual ideals in a modern context. Many of my pieces have a primitive or aged feel to them - but the architecture and materials are unmistakably modern.

Because creating is a meditation and a spiritual process for me, I try to remain present and positive as I tie every knot and organize every layer. I believe that when something is created with intention, that intention has the ability to create change. Each of my pieces is given a unique name that tries to sum up the energies, thoughts, feelings, and wishes I place into the piece as I create it.

Torc Emporium is a fusion of style, spirit, and serenity. I love designing for men because I love the idea of men embracing their unique spirituality and honoring themselves with embellishment at the same time. Women can also wear my pieces - and they look great doing it!

As Torc Emporium evolves, I hope to reach out to more people to share good energy, good art, and genuine support for each other's journey.

Welcome! My faves: herbal tea, great music, books, dinosaurs, rocks, sweets, anime, gardening, urban exploring, meditation, vegan noms, and creating. Working with wearable art to generate great energy... one knot at a time!

  • Bella

My shop assistant Bella tends to dress in all black, but she always inspires me to work with more color! She can be found 'working hard' by taking naps, playing fetch, and keeping me company when I create.

My name is Josh and I am the designer and creator of everything you see here at Torc Emporium. Since I was a kid I have always been fascinated by the power, symbolism, and paradigm shift that jewelry creates. I spent many years collecting pieces from cultures across the world and studying how jewelry, symbolism, and ritual added depth, empowerment, and texture to the lives of the people who wore them.

I now create high-end pieces that call forth the timeless energy of our collective history into a modern and even futuristic world. I work only with all natural materials and focus my work heavily on fiber, metal, urban found, and artisan elements.

Each of my pieces is created 100% by my hands, and every action taken to complete a piece is infused with positive energy and good thoughts. My pieces are simultaneously modern expressions of style and energetic cords that pulse with intention, protection, abundance, and blessing. I like to think that the very act of putting on one of my pieces is a meditation in and of itself - and that it connects the person wearing it to the eternal past and the beautifully unfolding future.

My pieces are all comfortable to wear, complimentary to individual expression, and easy to work with. I design for men, but my work can be worn well by anyone!

Torc Emporium is an evolving brand that combines all-natural, grounded, and energetic pieces with high fashion and progressive self presentation. My goal is to expand the line over time with annual and seasonal expressions that work well for a wide variety of people who want style, spirit, and symbolism to be part of their lives.

Additional policies and FAQs
If you have concerns about any of my building materials, please contact me in advance. If you are allergic to various all-natural fibers, metals and alloys, dyes, or other materials then please let me know in advance so that I can let you know if there is an issue with your desired piece. In most cases I can work around your needs and create something custom for you that fits your desired style.

Creating pieces that in no way create violence, pain, suffering, or stress to any living being is extremely important to me as a personal ethic and a business standard. If I use feathers, antler, and bone in many of my pieces they have been collected without injury or stress caused to the donating animal - most often through finding them in the wild. None of my pieces ever contain real leather, suede, animal fat as wax, or other violently obtained materials. I work hard to constantly find and add more organic, free-trade, sustainable, and naturally dyed materials to my line.

If you would like your piece to be infused with a specific kind of energy or intention - please do not hesitate to ask! In most cases I will add a few extra knots or tie in some extra material to 'lock in' the energy you are asking for on behalf of yourself or the person you are gifting the piece to.

I do offer custom pieces. Please contact me directly for more information.

Please feel free to send me a message anytime, and I will get back to you as soon as possible. I look forward to connecting with you!
