Very beautiful design, the color is rich and charming. Unfortunately the knit is too loose which means with a larger pillow for a firmer stuffing, the white shows through too clearly and looks unattractive.

I’m Melissa and I create colourful, handmade, crochet cushion covers for Torvaig Designs.
When I was little I spent a lot of time with my Gran and one day (when I was only 4!) she decided to teach me to knit. Unfortunately it was a terrible disaster and I ended up in an awful knot! However I was determined and when I finally discovered crochet many years later, it was the ideal craft for me.
Crochet has such a variety of beautifully textured stitches which I combine with a love of rich, bold colours. The cushion covers I create provide a perfect pop of colour to a room, whether in pairs or as a single throw pillow. Their rustic charm is also designed to compliment a range of fabrics, including tweed and tartan.
If you like the look of a particular cushion cover, but would like a different size, quantity or colour, then please do get in touch.

Frequently asked questions
UK Estimated Delivery Times and Undelivered Parcels
Estimated delivery times are 2-3 working days for Royal Mail 2nd class and 1-2 working days for Royal Mail 1st class. Postal times may take longer during the busy Christmas period or in the case of extreme weather.
All UK orders are sent Royal Mail 2nd Class, with the option to upgrade to Royal Mail 1st Class at checkout. All small parcels and larger come with a delivery confirmation code.
All orders over £35 will be sent Royal Mail Signed For (requiring a signature upon delivery). All orders £35 and under will be sent standard post.
A parcel is classed as 'lost' by Royal Mail 10 days after its due date. If you have not received your parcel, please notify me within 30 days of dispatch. This allows time to enquire with Royal Mail.
International Estimated Delivery Times and Undelivered Parcels
All non-UK orders are sent by Royal Mail International Tracked.
Royal Mail estimates the number of days a parcel will take to arrive in the destination country only and not the destination address. For Europe the estimate is 3-5 working days and for the rest of the world it is 5-7 working days. Parcels must then go through customs before travelling to your local mail carrier. Therefore additional delays can occur, particularly during busy holiday periods or in the case of extreme weather.
A parcel is not considered lost by Royal Mail until 25 working days have passed. If you have not received your parcel, please notify me within 30 days of dispatch as this allows time to enquire with Royal Mail.
Postage and Packaging
Postage costs are dependent on weight and dimensions of the items ordered. All postage costs are based on the price charged by Royal Mail with a modest contribution towards packaging costs. I do not make a profit on postage charges.
I try my best to use as little single use plastic in my packaging as possible. All smaller items are sent in a cardboard box or jiffy bag with removable bubble wrap. Currently all cushion covers and scarves are sent in recyclable poly mailers as cardboard boxes do not provide the necessary waterproof protection. Please do recycle or reuse these if possible. All packaging is sealed with parcel tape but when my current stock is finished it will be replaced with paper tape.
Custom Charges/Fees and Restrictions
Customs charges must be paid by the customer so please check your country's pricing policies.
All items sent to countries outside of the EU are sent with a CN22 customs form which identifies the contents of the package and it's value. As required by law, all packages will be marked as 'other' rather than as a 'gift' since they are commercial items.
Some countries, including Australia, have restrictions on what can be brought into their country. These restrictions often include wool and cotton therefore there is a small chance that customs officers may decide to open a package. As my items are made from 'highly manufactured' yarns there should be no further problems and the items should pass inspection.
Returns and Cancellations
All items will be dispatched within 1-3 days, and prior to dispatch the buyer is able to cancel their purchase. After the item has been dispatched, the buyer must return their purchase in order to receive a refund.
All requests for a refund must be received within 14 days of delivery and packages must be returned within 30 days of delivery. Please ask your Post Office for a Proof of Postage receipt in case of non-delivery.
Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs. Outgoing postage costs will be refunded minus the cost of any additional upgrades, e.g. 1st Class postage.
All non-UK orders must be marked as Returned Goods. If returns are not marked as such then any additional custom charges/fees will be deducted from your refund.
Cushion covers do not come with cushion inserts but 40x40cm (16 inch) inserts are a very common size so you will find them available both online and in well known home stores.
This means you can choose the exact insert you'd prefer - duck feather or polyester!
Including a cushion insert noticeably increases the postage cost, potentially making it cheaper for you to purchase your own cushion insert elsewhere. Postage of feather filled cushion inserts to certain countries is also prohibited.
All of the items for sale are made in my home in Newcastle, England. Whilst our home is smoke free, we do have a cat so our home is pet friendly.
