5 out of 5 starsgreat hat with interesting details and so much fun to make. unfortunately I used cotton yarn so now I have to block the damn thing. I highly recommend acrylic for this project so all the "toppings" lay flat

5 out of 5 starsThis was a super high-quality hat...something I'd expect to find at a high-end retail gift boutique! It is well-worth the money, and it has a little wooden ToryMakes tag on it (fun!) I ordered it about 2 weeks ahead of my date of need and it came at least 5 days prior to the day promised! And, it was gorgeous! Quality materials and really well-done. I wore it to a large sporting event and got SOOO many "I love your hat" comments - even from fans of the opposing team! It was nice & warm and fit great. My head measured 23" (I have a big brain!) so I could have gone with the M but I'm glad I went with the L because I liked the extra room and it didn't stretch the hat out. I can't wait to wear it to the CFP games! Go Tigers!

A modern day milliner
Hello!
I'm Tory, the owner, designer and artist behind ToryMakes. I have the most incredible husband and two mind boggling children - a teenager and a preschooler, and I love being their mom. I've never done anything as ultimately satisfying and yet terrifying as being a parent. We live, we laugh, and we praise the Lord in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
I like rainy days and dark roast coffee. I'm currently obsessed with hand lettering and journaling. And pens. All the pens. I still love buying school supplies at the end of every summer, and I haven't been in school for... awhile. Yeah, it's been awhile.
I've been creating for as long as I can remember and I've always loved art. From sculpture, photography, oil painting, charcoal drawing to cross stitch. Decoupage and collaging and art journaling. I found my THING when I started knitting. Initially I made bags... many, many purses, satchels, wallets. All the bags! Then I moved on to scarves, blankets and clothes. Hats were few and far between until I took up crocheting, that's when I fell in love with hats and ToryMakes was born in the fall of 2013.
I like mixing patterns, interesting textures and shapes and mismatching. I love bright and bold colors. I appreciate that when people are shopping for the young at heart practical isn't always their first priority. Accessories, they can be FUN! They can be whimsical.
I love that moment when an idea becomes a reality. Handmade is amazing in the fact that something (something tangible, something beautiful) is made from... nothing. From a pile of supplies. I use a hook and a ball of yarn as my medium and I make THINGS. Hats, slippers, cozies, tiny little tidbits. One of a kind pieces of useable art. The entire process still impresses and fascinates me.

These sizes are based on averages. If you'd like to include an exact measurement with your order, it will ensure a perfect fit.
Infant & Children:
Newborn - 13.5"
3 Months - 16"
6 Months - 17"
12 Months - 18"
2 Years - 19"
3-5 Years - 20"
6-10 Years - 21"
Teens & Adults:
Adult Small - 22" (Fits the average teen and most women)
Adult Medium - 23" (Fits an average man)
Adult Large - 24" (For those with extra big brains)
Care Instructions
Each item will come with care instructions, but the general rule is hand washing is always best. If you take care of your handmade item, it will last a very long time!
Buying a gift?
We are happy to send your gift directly to your recipient! Let us know in the "Notes to ToryMakes" section during checkout what you'd like your gift note to say. We'll send a hand written note and a put a handmade bow on it. Because we're fancy like that!
Packaging
Each item will come with a handwritten receipt (unless it's a gift, then we leave that out) and care instructions in a kraft envelope with decorative touches. The entire thing is then tucked inside a polymailer to keep your item safe from the elements during shipping.
