About

A Love Affair

Years ago I learned how to make jewelry from (now) my best friend. I furiously set to work making jewelry for art and craft shows. After a while I had so much stuff I needed an outlet. I saw an article about Etsy, checked out the website and BAM! before I knew it, I was selling away. Having then realized there were so many jewelry makers here how could I sell my stuff, even if it was just a hobbie? Through lots of trial and mostly error I was able to sell a few pieces in my shop. I quickly realised I needed to do something more appealing and somewhat different than everyone else in the Etsy world. I've always had a fondness for "old stuff" so I opened a vintage shop and quickly had 2 Etsy shops running at the same time in conjunction with a full time job in the medical field. It was daunting and I couldn't keep pace. With that, I made a decision to close both shops and take a break while I revamped.

In the spring of 2013, I met Ken. We quickly knew we were right for one another since we both had a fondness for antiques. Most of our weekends were filled with traveling around New England looking for treasures at flea markets, yard sales and antique shops. He is a major history buff! He is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to building things. My expertise comes from being a sponge for knowledge and wanting to know more about everything! Being around antiques most of my life, my love lays with old glass & bakeware, scandinavian design furniture and kitchen items, and anything old, unusual or kitschy and of course, jewelry! Ken and I both have a particular love of old postcards. We frame them and hang them up throughout our little cottage by the pond. ( see my ephemera section for framed postcards to spruce up a decor)

In the Fall of 2015 we got married and I decided to revamp the shop. I felt I needed to breathe a new life into it. Having read the articles Etsy sends out really helped me harmonize the shop. I reworked the shop sections, updated my photos, added a new banner and updated my avatar. My hope is that my kitschy eclectic collections in this little shop will stand out from the rest of the crowd! Touche' Vintage is a culmination of all the quirky little things that Ken and I enjoy and want to share them with the rest of the word. Oh and if you're wondering how I named the shop it's a play on words, sort of speak. Being from French Canadian descent, I wanted to use something "Frenchy" in the title so I used Touche' as a way to say " to touch vintage" and as a double entendre'. So there you go!

Check out my repurposed section for items I've revamped or rehabbed in some way to make it usable and functional again in some way.
All the Best,
Terri & Ken Sweeney

I get to hang out with the most beautiful woman ever while looking through old boxes, cobwebbed basements and greasy garages. I love that my wife doesn't mind getting a little dirty when treasure hunting.

Hi there and welcome to Touche' Vintage. My name is Terri Sweeney and I love old stuff! I have a very eclectic sense of style that is reflected in the items I sell in my shop. I grew up collecting costume jewelry and vintage kitchenwares. I have an unhealthy obsession with items like stars, polka dots and postcards.
Here you will find many items Which will help you display your personal sense of style whether in your home or on your body. Check back often, add me to your favorites to see what's new. If you don't' see it, by all means ask! We vintage sellers know lots of people and can track down just about anything. Thanks for stopping by!
All the best,
Terri S.

Payment
Payment is expected at the time of purchase. Paypal Preferred but I will except other forms such as etsy gift cards and money orders.

Cancellation fees: If you purchase an item and cancel the transaction before I ship, you will be refunded all monies minus any fees associated with the listing. Etsy and Paypal charge seller fees so be prepared that these may be deducted.

If you feel that there is an item that you just have to have my maybe funds are low, contact me and I may be able to offer a discount. Sometimes there is "wiggle room".
Shipping
My shipping choice is USPS and always with insurance for any breakable items.
In my experience, broken item = broken heart. Better safe than sorry and the little extra that you pay will be worth it as a happy customer.

I generally will choose the least expensive way to ship. If you need to have an item by a certain date, additional shipping fees may be expected and I will let you know before I ship it.

I am happy to combine shipping to keep your costs down, so don't be afraid to buy multiple items! The shipping charges I listed for an additional item are estimated so if you make more than one purchase from out of the country, convo me for a direct quote.

I will happily ship internationally. Please let me know where it is shipping to prior to purchase and I will convo you back with rates to make your purchasing decision easier.

Per USPS: Please confirm your addresses on etsy and Paypal to make sure they are up-to-date. If the package is sent to an undeliverable address, this is by USPS standards, considered a delivery. If the item is returned back to me I will notify you right away. At which point you have 2 choices.
1. Resend the item to the "new"address and rebill you the original shipping charge.
2. Refund your money ( less shipping charges, etsy& paypal fees incurred with the sale)
So PLEASE be sure you have the correct shipping address.
Refunds and Exchanges
If you have a concern regarding the purchase of an item, please convo me and we'll chat. I feel that each item should be taken on a case by case basis.
I try hard to make sure the item you receive is the same item I described.

All breakable items are carefully bubble wrapped and packaged well to ensure your item arrives safely. However, on occasion, Lord knows why, things sometimes get broken. If this happens, please notify me and I will do my best to make things right. Here are a few options we can choose: LESS SHIPPING CHARGES,
1. we can either replace it (when possible)
2. refund you the money you paid for the item.
3. use your money towards another item in the shop.
