About

Today the kitchen table, Tomorrow the world...

The TPF team is composed of life and business partners Steve Atkinson and Helen Robinson.

Helen Robinson is the main designer and Steve is the photographer. Between them they share the creation workload making all your items by hand in their little workshop in their garden in Whitby, North Yorkshire, UK.

Helen is the daughter of internationally renowned ceramic artist Jennifer Robinson. She was raised in a very creative family and her parents ran a successful pottery business so she spent a lot of time watching them create and traveling round to stalls with them. They moved to France when she was 7 and she did the rest of her education there. She has always had a keen interest for arts and crafts and spent lots of her childhood creating. She went to Art college in France but soon realised it wasn't for her. The course was more about the theory behind Art and less about the practical hands-on stuff she was interested in so she dropped out after a couple of years and went to work with her mother as a ceramic sculptor. She discovered that she was actually very good at it but found it hard always comparing her work to her mum's 30+ years experience. She left home at 18 and moved back to England where she spent a few years trying to find herself .She did a bit of bar work and waitressing and even had a really cool job as a follow spot operator that she loved. But she could never hold any job down for very long. She tried to go self employed a couple of times including as a French teacher but lacked the self discipline required to follow it through. Then She met Steve, a professional photographer who graduated from the university of Brighton in 1996 with a BTEC national diploma in art and design and a BA Hons in editorial photography. Shortly after meeting they started TPF Images&Arts, a business that offered editorial photography for events, band promotion, model portfolios etc... The discovered how great working for themselves was and that encouraged them to stick at it and make it work. Their son Kyte was born end of 2007. Helen was a full time stay at home mum till he was 1 but felt she needed to express her creativity more than in just helping edit photos etc...She also wanted to stay at home with Kyte though. She couldn't go back to clay because it is very much not compatible with small children so she started altering and decorating some of her clothes. TPF Faerie Wear was born and once she had started nothing could stop her! She started with tutus and pixie pockets and within a year had taught herself a whole new bunch of tricks. At this point, Steve was operating his photography business under the name 'Rage Photography', an offshoot of TPF Images&Arts and rapidly established himself as the main nightclub photographer in this area, being the in house photographer for quite a few regular events as well as having the opportunity to photograph some internationally renowned musicians and DJ's and having his images seen in various world-wide publications. In July 2012, Steve decided to quit all his other ventures to focus his photographic talent solely on TPF and also to join Helen on the creation side. Their range of clothing and accessories is rapidly expanding and they love learning new techniques and pushing their limits both in imaging and clothing all the time. Helen was voted best UK alternative designer of the year 2012 by the readers of Alt Mag Magazine .

Additional policies and FAQs
F A Q:

Do you offer payment plans/take payment in instalments?

We do yes :-)
Paypal now offer a flexible payment plan option. Once you have placed your order we will send you a direct PayPal invoice and tick the 'allow partial payments' box which then allows you to pay it off as much and as often as you would like. There is no extra fee. PayPal's only stipulation is that it must be paid off within one year. Once the payment is completed we them make and ship your item(s). Feel free to contact us to discuss options.

I've received a faulty or incorrect item in my order, what should I do?

We try our very best to ensure your product reaches you in perfect condition. If you suspect a fault with your item please send us a message with details of the problem. We'll get back to you as soon as we can and arrange to either repair or replace your item. It may be necessary to send the item back to us, we do request that items are returned to us unworn, with tags attached within 28 days. We will refund you for the return postage cost. For customers outside of the UK, we will also refund you an amount to cover your return postage. These amounts vary from country to country. This guarantee is in addition to and does not affect your statutory rights.

Will you mark my international item as a gift/lower value on the customs form so I can avoid import tax?

As much as we all hate the tax man, we are a professional business and if we did that we could face heavy penalties, therefore, all non EU parcels are sent with the invoice attached and the real value on the customs form.
