About

Leaves of My Book

I hope that Traveling Chariot is, above all else, a vehicle to move you - through time, across lands, to places you’ve yet to discover or even imagine. It is my aim to create products that transport you.

I gather inspiration from literature, art, travels and from artifacts sitting in archaic, cobwebbed corners that the modern age has all but forgotten: paper maps, candlelight, silence, traveling at a slow pace, books read one word at a time, the age of letter writing, antiquated forms of writing (quill pen, typewriter, pen and paper).

My creations have a personality all their own, often reflected in their name. This makes it easy for you to find the journal that suits you best. The journals I craft are sturdy creatures and need not be coddled or pampered. They will weather most any journey (except perhaps one on the high seas).

I use quality paper, materials, and genuine leather to hand stitch, bind, and cover my journals. I experiment with different methods and materials and seldom make the same thing twice, ensuring that the piece you choose is one of a kind.

So, please hop onto this chariot and ride away into the mists. Don't forget to take a journal with you. Record your wonders and send me greetings from afar.

I am not classically trained in these arts. I have the training of a vagabond, learning bits as I scavenge or salvaging what others have shared with me along the way. Though I love to travel, I find my home in the woods at the bottom of Missouri.
