Shop policies

Hello,
Please read the policies below before buying from me. I have tried to keep it all in plain English! There are sections on payment, shipping and refunds.

IMPORTANT CUSTOMS FEES INFORMATION FOR BUYERS OUTSIDE THE UK:
Some countries levy import and customs fees - please check with your local authority what is allowed to be imported and what your country's import fees apply to. It is the customer's responsibility to pay import fees, sorry!
I will always fill in customs forms truthfully and lawfully.

To the best of my knowledge, at the time of writing:
CANADA - Up to approx $20 CAD worth of goods can be imported without being charged fees.
USA - $200 before any fees are charged.
AUSTRALIA - $1000 AUS before any fees are charged.
OTHER NATIONS - please contact me if you are unsure of your local import laws.

Payment
All prices here are in United States dollars, but I'm a Brit based in the south west of England.
Etsy can now show approximate prices in other currencies but payment in this shop still needs to be in USD for now. Paypal will automatically convert your money into dollars for you when you pay if USD isn't your native currency.

If you are in the UK and want to pay me in sterling, please feel free to contact me to arrange this.

I currently only accept payment by Paypal.
Please note that payment via Paypal e-cheque can take up to 2 weeks to clear to me in the UK, but ordinary Paypal payments are instant, yay!
Shipping
Please check that your Paypal address matches the one you provide on Etsy. If you need me to send to a different address to the one on Paypal, please let me know *at the time of paying*.

UK - First class mail. Please allow up to 4 days for delivery.
EUROPE - Airmail. Please allow 5 to 7 days for delivery.
REST OF THE WORLD - Airmail. Please allow 5 to 12 days for delivery.

I always obtain proof of postage but this does not include tracking - please get in touch if you require tracking/insurance as this is available for some destinations at an extra cost.

I ship on weekdays - I aim to dispatch items within two working days of payment clearing. I cannot send items until payment has been made.

Please allow plenty of time if you need an item by a specific date. Expedited delivery is available in some cases, please contact me for further information and a tariff.

I try to keep my shipping costs reasonable. Shipping prices in my shop do include costs of packaging, handling etc, in addition to the actual postage cost.
Refunds and Exchanges
I want my customers to be as happy as possible with their purchases, so I endeavour to describe items as accurately as possible. Please be aware that some computer screens display colours slightly differently. If the precise colour is important to you, I'm sometimes able to provide small fabric samples for colour matching, on request.

Here are the circumstances where I accept returns (Please note that custom orders have slightly different return policies which I will outline before confirming any custom order):

Scenario 1: Item Arrives damaged or proves to be faulty within a reasonable time-frame.
Please contact me in the first instance with full details. Ideally, please send photos of the damage or fault so I can see exactly what went wrong. Then, I will need you to return the item(s) to me. If appropriate, I will issue a full refund (including the price of shipping that you paid for that item(s)) or repair or replace the item(s) after it has been returned to me.

I stand by my products - If you need me to make a repair or give a replacement due to a fault, I will refund the cost of sending the item back to me as well (please send a copy of the postal receipt).

Scenario 2: You change your mind.
If you change your mind about an item, no problem, just please contact me within one week of its arrival. I will refund the cost and original shipping you paid on that item, once the item is safely returned to me. In these circumstances I do ask that the customer bear the cost of returning the purchase to me.

If you'd like to exchange the item for something else, all you need to pay is the cost of shipping for the replacement item, plus any extra if your exchange item costs more than the original item. If the item you want in exchange costs less, I can arrange store credit for you on request.

***If returning an item, please be sure to get some proof of postage and contact me before sending the item so that I can confirm ***

Scenario 3: The parcel never arrives...
In the unlikely event that your parcel does not arrive in the expected time frame, please check first if the parcel has been left at a sorting office or other likely location, like at a neighbour's house.
I am happy to work with buyers in cases of lost parcels so let me know if an item you have bought still hasn't arrived safely into your hands three weeks after the dispatch date in my email. I’ll make every effort to make sure you get what you paid for, a replacement item, or your money back, depending on the circumstances.

All refunds will be made via Paypal in the currency they were sent to me in, unless otherwise mutually agreed.

SENSITIVITIES & ALLERGIES:
My products are made in a smoke-free home and while I love animals, I don't have any pets here either. I don't use heavily scented products. All orders should arrive smelling of nothing other than the materials they're made with!
