Treadle to the Metal
Handspun at the Speed of Life…

Treadle to the Metal is a one-woman handspinning machine. Offering unique handspun yarns for knitting or for admiring, Treadle to the Metal (aka Carissa) produces fibery items at the speed of life. After learning to spin a couple of years ago, it quickly became my passion and I began cranking out handspun yarns, both traditional and art yarns, at an alarming (to my husband) rate. My yarns feature fiber either hand-dyed or hand-carded by myself or other indie fiber artists, such as Loop. I use an assortment of fibers, both animal and plant, in my handspun yarns including various wool breeds, bamboo, soysilk, angelina, silk, and mohair. In addition to yarns, I sell handmade items (scarves, hats, and other accessories) knitted from my handspun yarns. Specializing in soft, often sparkly, one-of-a-kind pieces, my hand-knitted items will be an eclectic addition to anyone’s wardrobe.

Accepted payment methods

* Payment through Paypal is currently the only accepted method.
* Shipping is via the Belgian Post. Please allow up to 3 weeks for items to arrive in the US, in some cases. In my previous experience, sometimes the Post goes fast, and other times, it goes inexplicably slow. But, rest assured, the packages will most likely turn up at their intended locale!

* I cannot be responsible for items lost in the mail.

* Items ship within 1-3 days after receipt of payment. If you need your item extra fast, please let me know right away.
Additional policies and FAQs
* Custom requests are welcome. If you have an idea for a particular kind of yarn, some unspun fiber you'd like spun, or another project you have in mind, let me know. We'll chat! :-)

* A note about pictures: I try to make my pictures as true to color, true to life, as possible. However, there will always be variation from monitor to monitor. If you have any questions regarding the colors in a yarn or item, please don't hesitate to ask me before purchasing. Thank you!
