Frequently asked questions

What is gold filled?

Gold filled is an actual layer of gold - pressure bonded to another metal. Gold filled is not to be confused with gold plating as filled literally has 100% more gold than gold plating. Gold filled is much more valuable and tarnish resistant. It does not flake off, rub off or turn colors.14k Yellow Gold-filled wire is made with 14-karat gold bonded to for example a brass core, pressure and heat are used to create an outer layer. This wire can be worked with in a similar manner as to working with solid 14k gold.

What Is Your Piercing Jewelry Return Policy?

For the safety of al my customers, I do not offer returns, refunds, or exchanges on any hoops or piercing jewelry- this includes all nose rings, triages earrings, nose hoops, lip rings, cartilage and lobe piercings and hoops. I want you to love your new jewelry just as much as I love making it, so please get in touch and ask all questions before you purchase.

How Do I Know What Size Hoop To Buy?

The measurement that you need is to take the distance from the piercing hole down to the edge of your nose/cartilage/lobe. (It’s best to have this done by a professional piercer.) If not available have a friend help.

~MM gauge is the best way to take a measurement.~

Instructions if using a Ruler:
Cut a small strip of paper and line the top of the strip up with the piercing hole. Next, use a pen or a pencil to mark where the edge of your skin is. You can now place the paper on to a ruler and measure the distance of the edge of the paper to the mark that you made is. (figure your measurement is in MM.)

*Holding the ruler up to the piercing is not as accurate and not recommended

Why Should I Take My Time To Measure My Piercing?

Measuring Your Actual Piercing
It is really important to measure your piercing! If you don’t, you likely won’t get the size and “look” you want. This is especially true if you want a nose/cartilage/lobe hoop that will hug your piercing. The inner diameter that you wear has nothing to do with how big or small your nose or ear is, but rather how high up or low your piercing was pierced.

What Is The Gauge Mean?

Gauge is how thick the metal is. The smaller the number, the thicker the metal. So, a 22 gauge measurement is thinner than a 18 gauge measurement. (The most common sizes are 22 gauge, 20 gauge and 18 gauge.) I do make all gauges so please if you have any special needs I am happy to give you a quote.
