modern, cozy knits. upcycled & fair trade.

I take a camera and my knitting just about everywhere I go.
Parenting is a huge part of my studio process, read more on my blog:
My studio would not be complete without my table, which has been my partner, my subject, and an art object itself.
I stamp all my business card on recycled cardstock. With this one, I had a bit of help from my 2 year old daughter.

Tree Line Studio, Pittsburgh, PA

Tree Line Studio began high on a hilltop in Pittsburgh, PA, with sunny windows looking out into the tree tops.

This cozy workspace is where I make scarves, legwarmers, and fingerless gloves for adults and kids by combining high-quality recycled wool and cashmere with simple hand-knit trim and cuffs.

I love thinking about the previous lives of the recycled sweaters I work with. After I work my magic on them, they are refreshed and ready for their next adventure.

I enjoy learning about what motivates you. I respect your needs and choices, and your desire to make educated purchases. For each item, I include a full list of materials so that you can decide if you prefer recycled fibers, natural fibers, vegan, or fair trade materials. My Fair Trade items are made from yarn that is certified by the World Fair Trade Organization.

My studio life is always changing, and has entered a new phase since becoming a parent. My daughter and I make drawings, play in the dirt, and experiment with muffin recipes. My husband can usually be found improvising songs and games around the house. My daughter loves playing with the recycled sweater scraps, and weaving yarn between her toes. All of these sensory activities are part of my daily life, and inform my designs and methods of working.

I hope you enjoy browsing my shop. Please get in touch, I'd love to hear from you.
