The founding idea behind Tribes + society started over a decade ago. After many years of exploring different trends, mediums, and techniques, I finally embarked on the journey I was most true to: jewelry designing and making.

I have created a line of jewelry made mostly of brass, bronze and gemstones. I purchase chains and clasps, but fabricate every other components from various metalsmithing methods. I get my inspiration from jewelry found during archeological digs, in lost tombs and buried hoards. Celebrating past generations of artisans who have created jewelry that is still found today and give us a glimpse of their lives and World. I am always moved to find that the gifted hands from past centuries or millennia, created something I can still feel and appreciate. It is a legacy that truly connects me to the past.

Each piece is crafted with a distinctive simplicity and minimalist style, that can be seen in my present collection. I take great care not to "over work" the pieces, leaving them with an air of raw craftsmanship and ethnic look. I work alone in my studio and personally complete each piece by hammering, soldering, "texturing", cutting, shaping, forging, and overall making a raucous my husband LOVES! ;) It is my own little getaway and passion that keeps me awake at night and fills my head with ideas every minute of the day by mixing my love of archaeology and metalsmithing.

I started like many designers, by selling jewelry to friends and family, to little local shops and a few online ventures. I do feel that I have matured as a designer and creator, being able to bring ideas to life and producing a collection I am proud of.
