About

“Life is a blank canvas, and you need to throw all the paint on it you can.” ― Danny Kaye

I have had the stair risers that I sell here at Tribute Designs on my own stairs for YEARS! I've always received so many compliments and inquiries if I would make/sell them. I was flattered by the compliments, but never really had the time (who has time?) or resources to pursue sharing them with the world. With loving support from my growing family, and having no more obligation to a '9 to 5' occupation, I now get to create and share (lucky me!). So for all who asked, and for those who are just discovering these little jewels of art and pattern, here you go! I sincerely hope my work generates many compliments to your home or space. Enjoy! All the Best to you and yours, Cheryl...

Shipping
I utilize USPS as my primary shipping method - this is the most economical choice, and you'll receive your order in a very reasonable amount of time. Occasionally, UPS is a better option due to irregular size, distance, etc. In any event, you'll always receive an email when your order ships that contains information about the shipping method and tracking number. If ever in doubt, don't hesitate to contact me! :)
Refunds and Exchanges
I want you to be completely, delightfully satisfied with what you receive. If you're not in love, or it's something different that would better suit your space, please contact me by any of the methods provided below within (30) days of receiving your order. You send back what you're not loving and I'll refund you the cost of the item(s), less shipping. And most importantly, we'll work together to get you what you love.

Additional policies and FAQs
Stairs are a 'working' part of the home. Therefore, how you choose to adhere your stair risers to your staircase is so important – primarly for safety, secondarily for longevity and integrity of the riser.

Using Screws: Each 20" or larger stair riser should be secured to the stairs using (6) 3/4 inch long (at least) screws – one screw in each corner of the riser (4), one screw in the top center (1), one screw in the bottom center (1). Stair risers smaller than 20" require (4) screws - one screw in each corner.

If your stairs are constructed of a soft wood, such as pine, no pre-drilling of your stair should be necessary. However, if your stairs are constructed of a hard wood such as maple or oak, you may need to drill a pilot hole before installing each screw. If you're unsure what type of wood your stairs are made of, how easy or difficult it is to install the screw will determine if you need to pre-drill.

If you determine that you need to pre-drill your stairs, use a 3/32 drill bit (straight bit) for hard wood or a 1/8 drill bit (tapered bit) for soft wood. Again, if you're unsure of the type of wood you're working with, use a 3/32 drill bit. The easiest way to pre-drill is to position your plaque where you'd like it, and pre-drill where the screws will be located.

The screws supplied by and recommended by the shop are 'Phillips head, 3/4 inch, #5 Thread' (color black, brass, or stainless steel).

HELPFUL SPACING TIP: To ensure each of your stair risers going up the stairs are aligned horizontally (left to right), use an object as a spacer (a wood block, a book, etc). Place your spacer against the wall, and then slide the stair riser against the object. To ensure each of your stair risers are aligned vertically, place a small object at the bottom of your riser (a few pennies, a book, etc).
