Turning True Studios

Turning True Studios is based in a sweet yellow room in Baltimore. It is here that my dabblings and dreams take shape. Paintings, drawings, pottery, photographs, drawings, and an extensive rock collection share the space with me in the middle! I love to create and am excited to have the opportunity through etsy to share my creations with a wider audience.

As clay turns true on the wheel, centeredness comes. A vessel is created. Holding potential.

TurningTrueStudios is a space where movement brings art. Movement of the wheel, hands, clay. A found object is turned and re-viewed through the lens of art.

A fourth grade teacher by day, I am an artist at all times! I have been a potter since my college days in the late 1980's and have only recently become an oil painter. Both processes involve making a magical mess that results in paintings and pots of all shapes and sizes. All of the pottery is functional. Many of the paintings read as abstract, but are actually close-up views of tree bark. I love how nature's canvas is the best one of all!

New to the shop is a focus on Zentangle® Inspired Art. I have recently been trained as a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT) so I am incorporating those techniques into my work as well as looking for avenues to teach this magical method!

Pottery, painting, poetry, photography, drawing, and knitting are just a few of the art forms that I love. Finding moments to create each day feeds my soul. One of my greatest joys is sharing those creations with others.
