Turquoise Tiki

The Turquoise Tiki began as a hobby when its founder, Rachel, began looking for a new hobby to pass the time and a way to enjoy Etsy along side one of her best friends. In 2010 she began seriously sewing, however she had experience on a sewing machine before that. As a child she learned to sew from her mother and from a Girl Scout, but the hobby never really stuck. Eventually she began to mess around on a sewing machine again in high school, learning to make quilts, pillows, and other fairly simple projects in one of her classes. She didn't truly become invested in the skills she'd learned until a very close friend introduced her to Etsy a few years later.

After seeing just how much fun her friend was having and with her encouragement, she began to toy around with sewing once more. She bought her first pattern just to try things out and realized not only did she enjoy creating garments, she was pretty good at it too! The Tiki is a mostly retro-inspired store, sticking very closely to hostess aprons because Rachel has always been in love with that style and time period. It is also fun to include her favorite little touches, like recipes, from the 50s and 60s just to embrace the feel of that era and hopefully pass it along.

Thank you for your interest in the Turquoise Tiki! I like creating fun, vibrant and always retro inspired designs for the modern host or hostess. I absolutely love the image of fabulous dinner and cocktail parties of the 50s and 60s, and hope my style not only represents that point of view, but also transcends into modern times while remaining delicate, fun and flirty. A lot of thought and time goes into every piece and I hope you love them just as much as I love creating them. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to convo me. Payment
Payment is due at the time of purchase. No exceptions.

At this time, I will accept lay-away, but you must pay half of the total cost at the time of purchase. You will only receive your item after payment has been made, in full.
Shipping
Items in my shop are both made prior and made to order, most of the time it is marked in the listing which this is. Typically all orders are shipped next day (if pre-made) or within three business days.

If your item is made-to-order, expect three days to a week in order for the order to be filled and shipped.

DOMESTIC PURCHASES
I ship everything USPS Priority mail. If you need your purchase shipped faster you can contact me BEFORE you make your purchase so the prices can be adjusted. USPS Priority usually takes 3 days within the continental US and I find it to be very reliable.

INTERNATIONAL PURCHASES
I currently have international shipping prices on my listings, however I may convo you about additional payment, or a give you a refund depending on the price. I ship USPS Flat Rate Priority, however larger orders may require different shipping. International buyers are responsible for all customs charges and taxes.

HOLIDAY SHIPPING & EXPRESS UPGRADE
I have holiday shipping deadlines posted in my shop announcements and am always aware of them. All holiday shipping will be made as soon as possible. I have USPS Overnight Express upgrades available. I purchase delivery confirmation on all express orders.

SHIPPING ADDRESS
Your order will be shipped to your current PayPal or Etsy address unless another location is specified in your notes to the seller, so please make sure your addresses are up to date and match. I will absolutely send to a different address as a gift!
Refunds and Exchanges
While I strive to satisfy my customers, I do know that these designs are not right for everyone. If you are dissatisfied with your item in any way, contact me via Etsy as soon as possible. This means within 3-4 days of receiving the item. Some items use lace, ribbon and other details that are subject to change slightly from the listed item when they are made. Most listings mention this change. These changes are also not major differences from the listed item and thereby not considered misrepresentation of the item under Etsy's terms of service. Just the same, I would rather be up front and let you know here and in the listing that some minor details may be different but I will always strive to keep them in the same color family and style.

I only offer full refunds of the listed price after the item has been returned in an unwashed, unworn condition. If there are any obvious signs of wear, damage, abuse, alterations of soiling in any way (including smells), there will be no refund. You will be granted a refund after I receive the item.

I will not ever grant partial refunds. If the item arrives damage or is deemed defective, I must get it back in order to get a refund. While I understand everyone has schedules and deadlines, it is not my responsibility to help provide you with an item if you are dissatisfied with the work that has arrived. My responsibility is to get the item to you in a timely (two week window) fashion. Once that obligation is fulfilled, I do not owe you any partial refund if you don't like it and are stuck with it for an event. This item is purchased off the internet and any risks taken in purchasing an item you've only seen in pictures is the responsibility of the buyer. While I would love to help people out, this policy is strictly to protect myself from those who might try to scam money from me in whatever way they can. Any instances in buyers threatening me with negative feedback because I will not pay them while they maintain the item will be taken directly to Etsy and reported as scamming.

Please contact me before leaving feedback because I want to make sure you receive the item you desire. If you would like a different item, would like to do an exchange in size or color, I will work every avenue to help you out.

If an item does not arrive, please contact me as soon as possible.
Additional policies and FAQs
I am always interested in custom orders. This may mean different fabrics, sizing or even quantity. Depending on the size and intricacy of the order, you may be looking at anywhere from 1 week to 1 month for completion. Custom sizing on made-to-order items doesn't take any additional time. This does not include shipping.

I will give you an upfront estimation of cost and time via convo and hope to complete this as quickly as possible. You will need to pay half or all of this price up front, so I can purchase any needed materials. And then the other half of your payment will be due after. If there is any reason I cannot complete the order within the time I give you, barring serious medical and family emergencies, you will receive a discount on your originally estimated purchase price.
