Jack of all artistic trades

Hello, I'm Rose!

I've studied at Pasadena Art Center and California State University Fullerton, earning degree concentrations in animation and illustration. On the side, I took as many art classes as possible and developed skills in ceramics, sculpture, metal casting, printmaking and various other crafts just for the sheer enjoyment of it. I interned at Cartoon Network Studios and later worked as a prop and set designer for many film projects. I also earned teaching credentials and worked as an instructor of beginning drawing, intermediate drawing, watercolor and oil painting at Mission: Renaissance fine art academy.

Eventually, I married into the military life and now get to move to cool new places every few years, depending on where the job takes us. I now work primarily from my home studio as an artist and illustrator. Besides managing this etsy shop, I also run my Print-on-Demand site TursiArt.com, and sell my work in gift shops, galleries and festivals.

When I'm not creating art, I love foraging in the forest, both for food and art supplies. I'm a citizen scientist with the North American Mycological project - basically this means I catalog collect specimens and DNA samples of some of the more rare and interesting mushrooms I come across while wandering in the woods. I enjoy reenactment events such as SCA, EMP and renaissance festivals. A lot of my crafts are inspired by the things I learn via living history. I also love cooking, homebrewing, and going on adventures.

I fully manage this shop, including all correspondence and shipping, by myself. However, this shop also features artwork by my dad, Joe Tursi and my occasional business partner, Jerry Snapp. You can learn more about them by clicking on the 'About Us' section.

    Owner, Creator, Customer Service

Hi there, I'm Rose! I own and operate this etsy shop and most items featured here are also handcrafted by me. I am an illustrator by profession, but I also dabble in all types of art, sculpture, prop design, jewelry and more. A Jack of all trades!

  • Joseph Tursi

Joe is Rose's dad. A lifelong hobbyist, he began working seriously in stained glass when he retired from the railroad. Here, you can find photo prints of his windows as well as pendants and other jewelry he makes from his glass scraps.

  • Jerry Snapp

Jerry and Rose team up at many craft shows and festivals. He has been vending at Renaissance Fairs, Victorian, and Steampunk events for years. He's a tinkerer and upcycler, re-purposing trash into treasure. Some of his creations are featured here.

  • Suezella Tursi

Suezella is Rose's mom! She worked for years as a sewing instructor for Bernina and as been a lifelong hobbyist when it comes to illustration and crafts. She's mostly retired now, but enjoys making items for this shop.

  • Cindy T.

    Creator, Assistant

Cindy is Rose's friend and neighbor! She is retired, but volunteers at Fort Nisqually living history museum as a set and costume designer. When things get busy at TursiArt, she is hired to help with woodsman hats and other aspects of the business.

Returns and exchanges
LOSS / DAMAGE: If for some reason your purchase is lost or damaged in the mail, I will be happy to provide a replacement if applicable, or just refund the monetary value of the item and all shipping costs. This replacement / refund will be given once the damaged item is returned and verified to be the same exact item sold, or if postal tracking can not find the missing item. ( In some cases, a photo of the damaged item is all that is needed, rather than physically returning it to me.) Insurance is purchased on all orders over a certain dollar amount. In those cases I will follow the guidelines of the insurance provider in issuing returns/replacements. This policy on refunds for loss/damage applies to ALL items sold through my store EG: Stocked items, made-to-order items, and custom orders.

OTHER RETURNS: There are typically no refunds on custom orders that I can not re-stock in my store, (such as a customized illustration of your own trademarked character, items personalized with names or dates, etc.) Otherwise, for the vast majority of my stocked items and made-to-order items; If you are unhappy with your purchase for any reason, even just "buyer's remorse", you may return it for a refund of the item value, not including shipping costs. Item must be new / unused and in the same exact condition as when you received it. Return must be initiated within five days of receipt, according to tracking. You must contact me before returning your item.

Unique handcrafted items oftentimes require unique handcrafted customer service tailored to your specific situation. I strive for 100% customer satisfaction and will do everything in my power to ensure your happiness with my products and services. If you have a concern about your order, please feel free to e-mail, call or text at any time. My e-mail and cell phone number are provided with your purchase receipt, your shipping notification and also inside your package.
I am happy to accept Paypal, Etsy gift cards, and all major credit cards via direct checkout. On custom orders and made-to-order items, I do not begin physical work on the project until after payment has been received in full.
I ship all items in accordance to the rules laid out by your payment processor (EG: etsy's direct checkout, Paypal, etc..) to be covered under their individual seller protection policies. Most items ship via USPS First Class Mail in padded mailers. Certain fragile items are shipped in sturdy boxes with bubble wrap and packing peanuts. Sometimes items are shipped via USPS Priority. All packages - both domestic and international, have a tracking number which will be provided to you in an automated notification when your item ships. You may also find this tracking number by looking up the transaction in your purchase history.

I try to keep my shipping rates as affordable as possible to the buyer - I recycle boxes and packing supplies when applicable, keep product packaging minimal, and do not typically include invoices or printed receipts unless requested or when required by law.

I'm happy to ship anywhere in the World, though I am not responsible for VAT or other import taxes and fees you may incur via your local customs office.

UK Buyers specifically:
Anything worth more than £15 which is imported to the UK from a non-EU country is subject to VAT at 20% of the item value, plus an additional £8 handling fee. You will likely be required to pay this upon receipt of your package. This hefty tax is imposed by your government. I have absolutely nothing to do with it, nor am I responsible for paying it. I am also not able to mark your item as “gift” or mark it at a lower value, as that would be considered fraud. Please take this into consideration when making your purchase.
