About

A glass turtle for everyone!

I had been making beadwork jewellery for several years, and loved all kinds of beads - then in the year 2000, I attended a bead show on the Pacific Coast, and watched an artist demonstrating the art of making lampwork beads and sculptures. I was fascinated - I had always loved the idea of working with hot glass, but didn't have space to set up a hot shop...

...so I did a bit of research, and realized that I wouldn't need a large workshop to melt glass using just a torch, some propane, and kiln to create my own artglass beads.

I took a beginniner beadmaking class with a local artisan, and the obsession took over! I have been improving my skills at the torch since 2002, and enjoy using a variety of glasswork techniques; since the turtle is my totem, and I have two live turtles in an aquarium of my studio, I have been focusing on creating "a glass turtle for everyone!"

I hope you enjoy seeing my work :)
Thank you,
~Ania
