About

Hello from Turtle Notes

My shop story starts with a card. A single card that I lovingly made to give to someone close to me. I feel that since I have the ability to create that something I designed and made makes the sentiment behind a card, or gift, even more special. Of course that card had to be followed up by another, and then another, until I was spending a lot of my free time creating cards to give or send to my friends and family. At this point I had had a teny-tiny idea that started growing into a dream, of starting my own shop and filling it with my creations. So, like any other well organized, meticulous person would do, I started making lists. Lots of lists; to-do lists, things I need lists, what will I sell lists. I had piles and files stacked and saved, until a plan emerged and decisions were made. I came up with a name, bought a URL, and using the design skills I accumulated during my college education, designed a logo and brand identity to go along with it.

I've been asked why I chose Turtle Notes, and I guess I really hadn't thought of an answer for that other then that I like sea turtles, but one day an answer just came out of me. Turtle Notes is very much like a play on words, like 'snail mail,' however it is much better since you don't have to send a letter, just a note, which is less pressure to write, and I am pretty sure Turtles are a bit faster than snails.

Since I am a graphic designer I am constantly designing things on my computer, though I do sketch things out from time to time with a trusty pencil on good old paper. I'll have bursts of inspiration for things I'd like to create, usually in the middle of the night when I should be sleeping. Like any entrepreneur I dearly hope my shop is a success, who wouldn't want to quit their day job?

If you have any suggestions or ideas that you'd like to share feel free to message me through etsy or visit our Facebook page, be sure to become a fan since all of our new products and shop updates will be posted there. We also have a blog you can follow as well.

    Brand

Turtle Notes is the brand I came up with to be the name of my little business. I chose a sea turtle to be my mark because I just love them, and they are incredible creatures. They seem so content with going with the flow.
