Looks just like the picture! I live in the US and shipping didn't take long at all, maybe a week tops. It did take almost up to 2 months for it to come in so make sure you do it in advance. Great with communication and was able to accommodate to my custom order.

About

Inside the Tutu Factory

We are a small, home run family business in the Midlands, England.

The Tutu Factory was founded by a mother and daughter several years ago. At first it was as a hobby for some extra income and then just over 2 years ago we decided to go for it and become an official business.

All of our items are hand made to order with love by ourselves in our home environment. The sewing room and cutting studio are at the bottom of our garden. Our office, photo shoot area, drying room and design room can all be located in our spare room and my bedroom. Our living room has been taken over with cardboard boxes and it I'm sure another room of the house will be taken over at some point this year.

One of the founders, Wendy (mother of the team) comes from generations of seamstresses growing up in a mining village. In our family, you don't learn how to sew it just comes naturally! Wendy has years of experience in many factories sewing a huge variety of items. But the majority of her work has been for large lingerie companies such as Ann Summers and Jigsaw as well as international club wear.

Luby, the daughter of the founders earned a distinction level AVCE in Art&Design and then advanced on to a BA(Hons) in Fashion&Textiles as well as over 12 years retail experience.

This gave us a great background in making up our tutus. We've learnt a lot a long the way and hope to carry on doing so! It's an area that we sort of fell into accidentally but obviously it was meant to be!

Due to the large increase in demand of our tutus welcomed 2 new members to our Tutu Factory Team in 2014 (something I never even imagined we would need to do!) Dawn, another machinist and Laura who is our administrator. Both, who are our cousins and live in the same village. Any photo shoots we do with live models are usually family and close friends so we really do keep things as a family run business!

Welcome to the Tutu Factory UK!

We aim to make the most fun tutus possible to ensure you have a fantastic time in them. Our tutus are available in all sizes, ages, colours, themes and lengths. We have a huge range but if you can't see exactly what you want just get in touch with me and I will try my best to create your dream tutu!

We are a small, family company based from home in England who will get your hand made to order tutu out to you as soon as possible!

All items are designed, made and packaged by ourselves.

We only accept Paypal as payment and tutus must be paid for straight away. Please contact me if you have any problems with paying before buying.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE
The Tutu Factory reserves the right to cancel a sale and provide a refund.

The Tutu Factory aims to treat all customers with respect and will not tolerate harassment or antisocial behaviour, and reserves the right to cancel and refund orders should this occur.

Rude messages will be ignored. Manners cost nothing. Treat people how you would wish to be treated.



PAYMENT
All orders made through our storewill be through a secure transaction with PayPal. (We have some helpful images further down this section on how to order through the website) This is one of the safest ways to shop online for both you and ourselves. Unfortunately, as we are a small company that is run from home we cannot accept payments over the phone as we do not have any kind of card machine. We will be happy to send over a PayPal invoice to your preferred email address.

Don't have a PayPal account? Not to worry, you can either create one or simply sign in as a 'guest' and use your debit or credit card without ever having to make an account!

If we do send over an invoice to yourself, you will get an email from PayPal letting you know that you have an invoice that needs paying. If one hasn't shown up in 24 hours please check your junk/spam part of your inbox as sometimes they don't come through to your main mailbox. If there is still no sign please let us know and we will send a reminder to hopefully make it show up!

If we do not receive payment within 7 days your invoice and order will be cancelled.

If we have invoiced for extras on your order such as Postage Upgrades your order will not be dispatched until all payments have been received. Also, if we have invoiced for extra additions to your tutu such as lights, L plates, extra layers, etc. your tutu will not be placed into the process queue until the extra payment has been received.




CANCELLATIONS

Cancellations must be made in writing as soon as possible through the website, or via direct email to thetutufactory [!at] hotmail.co.uk, quoting your order details (date order was placed, name the order was placed under and name of tutu, etc). If your order has already been dispatched we will unfortunately be unable to cancel your order.

Please take into account our opening times when getting in touch about your cancellation as we do not monitor emails out of our opening hours.

Orders cancelled in this way are governed by Consumer Contracts Regulations (2014)



By purchasing from ourselves you are agreeing to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions of use. If you disagree with any part of these terms and conditions please do not purchase any of our items.

We reserve the right to change these terms and conditions from time to time and you should look through them as often as possible.
Shipping
PROCESSING TIME

Please be aware that the majority of our products are hand made to order. Processing times are stated in the product descriptions for customers to be aware of the approximate waiting times. Most processing times are around 1-3 weeks. This may increase for larger orders, busy periods and if we are waiting on special fabrics such as the sparkle net. We will always aim to get your order out as soon as possible. We are a small, family run business where your order is made to your specifications and we thank you for your patience.

We do recommend that customers order as early as possible so to as avoid any disappointment. We are a small, home run family business where your order is made to your specific specifications

If you are in a rush for your order you can always upgrade your delivery service or add the Rush Fee. (see further down this section for more Rush Fee info)

Our bespoke items are quirky and original and we feel, worth the small wait and we do thank you for your patience! We hate having to wait for pretty things ourselves so we understand that you'd like your items to be with you as soon as possible.

Working days indicates Monday - Friday and does not include Public Holidays or weekends. Please take this into consideration when waiting for an order. Postage times are on top of the the processing time. International customers who would like information on waiting times for international shipping should read all the information here before placing an order.

Orders placed after Thursday 11:30am will not be added to the process queue until Monday as we do not work weekends (working days, stated above) Emails about orders will not be answered our of opening hours.



RUSH ORDERS


If you are in a rush for your order and the processing time is too long you can order add the 'Rush Fee' to your cart from our store. Search Rush Fee or click on Rush Fee section of our store. You can also add a note to your order that you are happy for us to invoice you for the £10 Rush Fee.

This makes your order a priority and will be dispatched as soon as possible. Please be aware that there may be other customers in the Rush Queue before yourself and we may still have to wait on fabrics or accessories to be delivered to complete your order. Rush Orders will be dispatched within 7 days at the very latest.

The Rush Fee covers for ourselves working out of hours to complete your order or if we have to go out and purchase fabrics and such for your order instead of waiting for it to be delivered.

To avoid paying the Rush Fee we'd advise to order your item as soon as you can to avoid any disappointment and additional costs.




DELIVERY ADDRESS



As all of our payments go through PayPal, your order will be posted to the delivery address on your PayPal account. Please ensure that this is correct at the time of placing your order. Should your order be sent to an address that is incorrect on PayPal, this is the sole responsibility of the customer and no refund or extra item will be sent. Even if a further email with the correct address has been sent following the order, the initial error lies with the customer (should the email with the correct address not be received by us or be seen in time for example) and no refunds or replacements will be sent. Please note that if you request an alternative postal address you will not be insured for missing items through PayPal.

Once an order has been shipped, the etsy status will be changed to 'sent' and an automatic email from etsy sent to you informing you of this. If you do not receive an email please do not worry. Sometimes, the email may be delivered to your junk mail or at extremely busy times such as Halloween or Christmas we are sometimes unable to change the order status, but you can message us here with any queries about your order or email thetutufactory [!at] hotmail.co.uk.

When contacting us concerning your order please include the date purchased as well as the surname the order was placed under. If you have an address or an account with a different surname please include both names. This is a HUGE help as we have lots of customers with two completely different surnames which can make finding your order difficult.





UK DELIVERIES (ENGLAND LOCAL ORDERS)


Small items such as veils or accessories ordered on their own that are under £11 (approx.) will usually be sent standard 1st class post with Royal Mail. If you'd prefer your item to be sent by First Class Recorded please send us an email and we will invoice for any additional costs.

Our bespoke items are dispatched as standard by First Class Recorded post through Royal Mail, which means your parcel will need to be signed for. This service does not provide tracking but does provide proof when the item has been received and signed for. As stated on the Royal Mail website, delivery can take 1-3 working days. We at the Tutu Factory UK cannot take responsibility for these delivery times once an order has been dispatched, as unfortunately, we have no further control over an item once it has been dispatched. Delivery times and costs are set by the Royal Mail.

Next-day delivery options are available at extra cost. Next Day Delivery is a faster postal service for UK customers only. Please email before making your order if this is required as it is not always possible. Once an order has been shipped, the etsy status will be changed to 'sent' and an automatic email from etsy sent to you informing you of this. If you do not receive an email please do not worry. At extremely busy times we are sometimes unable to change the order status, but you can email us here with any queries about your order. Please remember to include helpful information such as the date it was ordered and surname the order was placed under.




INTERNATIONAL DELIVERIES


At the end of the transaction for your order you will be charged for International Tracked delivery. This service comes with a tracking code which you can track progress on the Royal Mail website in the Track and Trace section. Some parcels will need to be signed for.

ESTIMATED DELIVERY TIMES. All shipping times are on top of processing times.
EUROPE 2-5 working days
AUSTRALIA AND USA 4-7 working days
REST OF WORLD 7-15 working days


We at the Tutu Factory UK cannot take responsibility for these delivery times once an order has been dispatched, as unfortunately, we have no further control over an item once it has been handed over to the Royal Mail Post Office. Some parcels take less time to arrive and some can take longer to arrive, we really cannot tell which way it will go. So yes, we may say it SHOULD arrive within a certain amount of time due to the information given to us but we cannot always guarantee it! Delivery times and costs are set by the Royal Mail. If you have any problems with the shipping charges please get in touch with them through their website.

Overseas orders tend to take around a week onwards to arrive, but this can vary due to possible postal delays and customs issues. This can also vary dependant on the distance of the destination from the UK (Tutu Factory UK's' location). If orders have not arrived a month from date of dispatch, please contact thetutufactory [!at] hotmail.co.uk providing the date your order was placed and the name it was placed under.

Should any delivery exceed 45 working days from point of order, the Tutu Factory will offer a full refund, acceptance of which will effect cancellation of your order.

RETURNED PARCELS


Should your parcel be returned to us for any reason, for example due to a wrong post code or incomplete address, addressee gone away or not called for, the sender will be liable to pay a re send charge. We will notify you of any returns and ask you to contact us with your payment details in order for us to re send the parcel for you with the correct details or we would be happy to refund your order excluding postage costs.

This does happen quite a lot with international orders so please check your etsy account when waiting for your order!






'LOST' ORDERS

UK CUSTOMERS
Where an order has been dispatched to the customer by the Tutu Factory, it cannot be regarded as “lost in transit” until 14 working days have passed from point of dispatch. We always obtain proof of postage and if you have chosen a tracked service you will have the tracking code to use on the Royal Mail website.

The Tutu Factory will replace lost orders or offer a refund under these circumstances, but is not liable for providing any additional monetary refund in these circumstances.

Once this period has expired, written notification is required (as with cancellations) within 7 days. The Tutu Factory reserves the right to refuse any refund if notification of “missing” goods is not received within this time frame. Our email is thetutufactory [!at] hotmail.co.uk, please get in touch if you do not receive a response from ourselves within 48 hours of sending a written notification (during opening hours)

Upon qualifying notification of an order not being received, the Tutu Factory team will process your refund, which will then be made within 14 days through your PayPal transaction.

Should missing goods turn up after your refund has been processed, these goods will remain the property of the Tutu Factory, and so should be returned within 7 days.

Please note that in rare occasions custom agents may delay the delivery of some parcels.





SHIPPING POLICIES
By placing an order with us at the Tutu Factory, you are responsible for all original shipping charges, all applicable custom import fees and the cost of return shipping back to the Tutu Factory UK. This also applies to any shipments that are refused by you at delivery.

So please make sure that you order the perfect one! We are more than happy to exchange if you find it doesn't suit or you'd like a longer/shorter one.

REFUNDS

Buyers are responsible for reading all descriptions and store policies before purchasing. We make sure to include lots of helpful information in the description so it is worth reading. We also advise to view ALL photos of the product before purchasing.

We follow the Distance Selling Regulations (UK) 2000 which means that you may return any off-the-shelf item for a full refund (excluding delivery charges) within 7 days of delivery providing the item is new and unused. Please note that custom-made items. such as our tutus and veils are excluded from this and may only be returned if faulty or not as specified.

As all of our tutus are custom made to order or 'bespoke items' (as you can choose style, size, length, colours, etc.) we cannot accept returns nor give refunds unless the item is faulty. (See further down for faulty item information)

We are always happy to answer any questions about any of our products before you decide to purchase so you do not end up with a tutu that you would need to return. We can help with sizes, lengths, good colour combinations etc. There really is no such thing as a stupid question with us! You can check out the Tutu Info section or our FAQs to help or send us an email.

If, by chance, we have a 'blonde moment' and send out an incorrect tutu please get in touch as soon as possible and we will send out the correct tutu/item for you right away. Please remember that items are hand made to order so we probably won't have one ready to make up and send out that day. But we will do our best to get it out to you as quickly as we possibly can.

FAULTY ITEMS


All of our tutus are checked before being sent out, however in the event that a tutu is received faulty or damaged, please inform us within 7 days of receiving your order.

Customers MUST contact us before returning an item for instructions. Do not return goods for any reason without first contacting us as it may then be impossible to replace or refund the item.The item must then be returned to the address provided. Please note that we cannot take responsibility for the item should it not arrive so you may like to send it via recorded delivery.

Once the item has been received, it will then be inspected and an exchange or refund will be issued. Return postage costs will also be refunded as long as the item is faulty. Any items that do not meet our return policy will not be credited.





EXCHANGES



If your tutu has arrived and you realise you have chosen the wrong colour by mistake or wold prefer a longer/shorter tutu, etc. we are more than happy to exchange your item for you.

Please get in touch within 7 days of receiving your order and let us know what you would like to exchange your order to. It is the customer's responsibility to pay for postage costs to return and to re-send the exchanged item. Your exchanged tutu will not be dispatched until the invoice to dispatch has been paid.

Customers MUST contact us before returning an item for instructions. Do not return goods for any reason without first contacting us as it may then be impossible to replace or refund the item. I'M NOT SURE WHAT SIZE I AM??! HELP!!!

We have a helpful size guide in our Tutu Info section on our website www.tutufactory.co.uk. This will give you a general idea of what size fits a REG, PLUS or Plus EXTRA as well as covering international sizes too. By comparing this guide with your own size and waist measurements, you should get a good idea of which size will be better for you.

DO YOUR WAISTBANDS TIE AT THE BACK?

No. Our waistbands are elasticated all the way around, no ties to be found. All of our tutus are hand sewn. We do not make the popular American style hand tied tutus. We find these fit people much better and obviously, stay together.




CAN I ADD LIGHTS TO MY 1 MONTH OLD BABYS TUTU?!

Your child's safety is our main priority. We do not add lights to tutus for children under the age of 9-10 years due to health and safety reasons. The lights are on a wire, which could prove dangerous if unraveled from the tutu and also, the battery packs require 3xAA batteries which are not only unsafe for babies but rather heavy.

We still advise all 9 Years and above children to be constantly supervised by an adult whilst wearing a light up tutu.





WHAT IS A BUSTLE?

A bustle is like a tail/train on the back of your tutu and longer in length than the front. It's very burlesque! Great for hen nights!




DO YOU MAKE CUSTOM ITEMS?

YES WE DO. We love working with your ideas. Simply get in touch with your ideas, any photos for inspiration as well as preferred tutu style, colours, size and length. The more information you include the quicker we will be able to get back to you with a quote.






WHY ARE YOU ONLY OPEN A FEW HOURS A WEEK?

We're a small business run from home. We cut, sew and pack your tutu so it is hard to answer emails and calls at the same time, unfortunately. Laura comes in to do as much as she can in our opening times which is a great help to us. We do have a HUGE amount of information on our website to help you as much as we can out of hours.


If you do have a problem with waiting more than a few hours for a reply we would recommend purchasing from a larger company where the products have been made in China and you can't choose your style, size, length and colour but will have it sent out within the hour. We feel that our products are worth the wait.

Good things come to those who wait, right?

INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS - Please remember that it might be 5-6PM for you over in LA but it would be 1-2AM in England. So please keep this in mind the next time you're annoyed because we haven't replied. We're getting on a bit now so we need the beauty sleep!






DO YOU GIVE GROUP DISCOUNTS?

We give a 10% Group Discount when you order 5 or more tutus in one transaction. We also offer discounts for dance school orders and such.

You can either place your order through our website using the discount 'GROUPIE' or you can send over an email/convo with your complete order (as much info as possible please!) and we will send over a PayPal invoice for you with the discounted prices.

We do not and will not give discount for any order of under 5 tutus.






WHERE ARE YOU BASED? CAN I COLLECT MY TUTU?

We are based in Nottinghamshire in England. Customers are welcome to collect their order instead of having it delivered if you live nearby. We live in Pinxton, Nottinghamshire near the J28 roundabout and the East Midlands Designer Outlet. Message us for details if you live nearby and would like to collect!






DO YOU HAVE A STORE?

At the moment we are only an online store (www.tutufactory.co.uk) as we work from our home. But who knows what the future may hold for us?!






MY ITEM HASN'T ARRIVED :( WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Double check with us that it has been sent. Your tracking code will have been added to your PayPal or etsy transaction. You should use that on the Royal Mail Track and Trace section of their website which should give you an idea of where it is in the delivery process.
