Sustainable glass homewares and upcycled lamps.

It always seemed such a terrible waste to discard the many empty wine bottles my friends and I were left with after a great night in. So I set out to create something beautiful and special and Twice Drunk was born.
I love the results. I know you will too.

Hi there and welcome!

My name is Dan and I live in Melbourne, Australia.

Twice Drunk embodies my love for turning empty beer, wine and spirit bottles into glassware, lamps and other stunning pieces.

I have a serious passion for helping to create a sustainable world through compassion, education and purposeful action.

Materials for Twice Drunk are sourced from other local environmentally friendly businesses with a strong ethical and sustainability focus. Wineries, pubs, restaurants, bars, function centres, secondhand shops and of course, my friends all contribute.

What you find here in my store is just a selection of what I have. If you have something special in mind, get in touch and I'd be only to happy to create a customised piece.

/// THE CREATION PROCESS \\\

Twice Drunk glassware:
Each bottle is cleaned and sterilised with all labels and glue removed before the creation process can begin.
The bottle is then cut using a diamond-coated drop saw and polished smooth using a wet belt sander.

Watch the creation process here: https://youtu.be/_KpIizOnvuY

Twice Drunk lamps:
Once the bottle/vessel has been cleaned, a small hole is carefully drilled using a diamond-encrusted drill bit and lots of water.
Then 10-15 metres of 100+ LEDs are carefully threaded inside the bottle and each LED is arranged precisely to perfectly highlight the bottles natural beauty.
The entry point is sealed and the power cable attached.

Shipping
Shopping online is exciting and as soon as you hit that final BUY button, your new purchase can't come quick enough. Trust me I get it. So when I receive your order, I do my best to get it out to you ASAP.

For deliveries within Australia, I use a door-to-door courier. They're reliable and inexpensive and that means I keep my expenses down. The only exception is for delivery to PO boxes, which can only be done via Australia Post.

International deliveries are all managed through Australia Post and their international affiliates.
Additional policies and FAQs
Custom work is a big part of what I do. Many of us appreciate the beauty in vintage vases, bottles and other vessels and it's exciting for me to help bring those prized pieces to life as an upcycled lamp.

Important occasions such as Weddings and significant birthdays can be remembered long after they're gone by turning a special bottle of bubbly into a shining reminder of a special life event.
