twilight dance designs is my little business since 1993 where I decided my life's path was to create art for a living any way I could. (the name comes from a song my husband wrote)....I have loved art since I could pick up a crayon. My dad was an engineer and master craftsman, and my mom is a seamstress who could make you a dress with her eyes closed. My dad would bring home graph paper and pencils from work and I would just go to town between math, all those little boxes and drawing. When I was 8, I watched a film about Pablo Picasso and I saw an ADULT painting and realized that's what I wanted to be when I grew up. That guy. Bob Ross taught me how to paint trees, and I never went to art school, thankfully. No formal training except a semester's once a week class on printmaking, screen printing and wood block carving at a community college. I learned most on my own. it makes for 99% everything being self-taught and raw. I saved a lot of money- but took a very long time. Music is also my life thanks to my father. I was introduced to everything from Dylan and beyond. I started sewing when I was 18, and sold my clothing in the parking lots of Grateful Dead shows, and music festivals, as well as online. I was a picky lady about everything from my thread to my fabrics to my dyes. If there's one thing my dad taught me, it was always to do a job right, and use the best materials possible. I recycle as much as I can and my love of saving things has taken up a bedroom in our home. Yes. The art has it's own room.
I've always been drawn to mandalas, they come to me like I breathe.
I also dye fabric, paint and draw, sew clothing, and make whatever my head makes up inside. I live at the Jersey Shore with my 2 awesome kids and musician husband and we are both artists making a living off our crafts.
I am a breast cancer survivor, so getting back into making things is a slow and long recovery process due to my dominant arm being permanently disabled from surgery, and 2 nasty conditions called lymphedema and 'cording'. But I forge on, and the healing process through art has been the greatest. It's a long road back- but this is my journey.
I had a few good years of a hiatus, where I stopped selling my goods and focused on raising my kids- then I got cancer and now I'm back. I have been cancer free since November of 2012.
Looking forward to creating more and more as my body heals itself....

I live on the Jersey Shore with my husband and 2 kids... I am addicted to color, sparkly things, and hoarding fabric and craft supplies. I draw things, sew things, glue things on other things, paint things and just make things in general. Art =Life.
