About

The long road to a modern take on hand crafted pottery!

I always loved art class as a child, especially our projects in clay. I've never been particularaly good at drawing or painting, but I have always loved arts and crafts of all kinds. I was fortunate enough to take a ceramics class in high school, where I started to learn how to throw on the wheel. I went on to persue ceramics in college, studied abroad in the cermaics department at Glasgow School of Arts, and continue to learn all I can about my field to this day! Ceramics is so diverse, and the possiblities are endless.

I've taken a long road to opening up my shop and becoming a full time artist. Graduating college was difficult as I wasn't really sure of the best next steps. I took a few part time jobs, and eventually decided that full time work as an executive assistant was a good move for me. The experience has been very beneficial as it has allowed me to grow personally and professionally over 5 years. While I continued to create in clay over my tenure in the corporate world, I was finally ready, in fall of 2015, to leap back into running my creative business with two feet. I have completed my transition from full time work, and am now in my ceramic studio full time!

I currently live at the Jersey Shore with my super supportive husband, Matt, and our furry pooch, Bromley. I create my pottery in my home studio.

My work is handmade from the beginning to the very end. I start with a smooth stoneware clay and wheel throw or hand build my pieces. Then they are all hand decorated with a variety of techniques and sent off to their first firing. Once they come out of the first firing, they are glazed, sometimes with two or three different glazes and sent back into the kiln to be fired up to 2232 degrees F. Lastly, they are cleaned, photographed, and ready to be sent out into the world!

I fell in love with clay at the young age of 6 in my 1st grade art class! I started throwing on the wheel in high school, and studied ceramics in college. After practicing my technique for the past 10 years. I am happy to share my craft with you!
