Welcome to my little spot in the universe... my creative outlet!

I live in a beautiful little town in British Columbia's high country, surrounded by tall pines and fresh air where I am a passionate mommy, wife and crafter. I am inspired by my three beautiful children and the world around me, and here at Twinkle of my Eye you will find various expressions of this.

As always, all items are created in my smoke free, pet free, child filled home.

I love custom orders, so if you would like a different configuration or custom color selection of modelling beeswax please do let me know and will do my best to accomodate :-)

Wholesale partnerships are welcomed too at this time!!!

Thank you ever so much for supporting hand made!

Blessings, Charlene.

Thank you Bees!!

Here are a few things about my lovely modelling beeswax...

Modelling beeswax is totally solid in its form when you receive it.

To prepare a piece of modelling beeswax for use...
1. Cut off a small piece, no bigger then a quarter of a round block. I typically quarter my rounds right out of the gate.
2. Fill a mug half full with hot tap water.
3. Drop a piece of modelling beeswax in and let sit for a good 2-5 minutes.

NOTE - Please DO NOT heat or microwave your modelling beeswax or the water that you will be putting your modelling beeswax into. Use hot tap water only and then add a piece of modelling beeswax to your dish.

I find that the first working through of a piece of modelling beeswax is tougher, so I always work in a new piece first before giving it to my children.

You will find that the first time you work the modelling beeswax that it will be sticky to start and as it is kneaded, so to speak, the pigment, oil and beeswax will blend well and the stickiness will end.

Some of the pigments seem to make the beeswax softer while others a little harder... this is part of the magic that I don't understand.

The modelling beeswax warms with your body temperature, and will maintain totally pliable when being handled. It can be shaped and carved as you wish. You can even mix colors to make new ones.

The creations that are formed can be left and harden a little once more, but can be squised and re-form again and again.

When my children finish playing with the modelling beeswax, we flatten the piece out into a little pancake for storage and then it warms up quickly the next day.

I love modelling beeswax too because you only need to work with a little to create masterpieces!!!

I hope these tips help you truly enjoy my lovely modelling beeswax!

Ps - You will sometimes see a white haze called "bloom" develop on your modelling beeswax... do not worry it is not going bad. Bloom is a natural by-product of beeswax and develops more rapidly in cold temperatures. Beeswax likes to be warm, and simply playing with your modelling beeswax will get rid of the bloom. If you are gift giving some modelling beeswax, simply take a blow dryer and run it over the round until it turns shiny again. Voila!!! Have fun :)
