How I started selling sewing patterns

Almost 10 years ago when my first son started walking I went to the store to buy him some soft-soled shoes. They were more money then what I wanted to pay so I went home and that night I began designing a pair of shoes him. It took a few samples pairs to get them just right and I loved how they turned out. People noticed them and I constantly got comments on them. I soon had people wanting to buy them. I created many new baby shoe designs over the next few years and sold my little shoes to friends, neighbors and at boutiques. Word-of-mouth really grew my business but as my success grew I became tired of the whole process of making shoes and decided I would try my hand at selling sewing patterns. Now that I have 4 young boys, selling sewing patterns is the perfect business for me! I thoroughly enjoy coming up with new ideas, creating them and seeing the finished product. It also gives me great joy that I can pass on my love of sewing through my patterns to my customers.
