Twobadbananas is inspired by the Japanese culture of kawaii (super cute) which basically means: put faces on things and make them oh-my-god cute. I work with fimo, which is a kind of plasticene you can bake hard in the oven, and also with ready made plastic charms which I source from all over the world. Twobadbananas appeals to the young-at-heart, to your inner kid, and to your sense of humour. I love it when I hear people say, "Look! That carrot has a face!" That's the buzz, right there.

I’m based in York, the most beautiful city in England as far as I’m concerned, and I now have my own workspace in the house I share with a chef and two theatre types, and my cute but naughty cat, Adobe. I've been making jewellery for nearly three years, and though I still work full time in a shop, one day I’d love to do this and this alone. I started out simply making items for myself. Then there were a few requests from friends. Then there were a few requests from strangers in the street. Then I sold quite a few pieces in the shop I work in... and that's when I decided to set up my Etsy shop.

All the jewellery and packaging in my shop has been chosen, planned, designed, and made by me, and my Dad helps me with the photographs (he has a better camera!).
