About

Bursting at the Seams

This is my supply shop! My main shop is Tailor of Two Cities (www.etsy.com/shop/TailorofTwoCities). This shop is where I sell fabric I've collected or inherited, patterns, and other things I use in my studio.

My Aunt Judith taught me to sew when I was a tender age of twelve. I had just joined the Arthurian Order of Avalon, an educational group about the middle ages, and needed costumes. The very first thing we ever sewed together was an underdress made of black crushed velvet that is still hanging in my closet.

Thus ignited my passion for sewing. From the very meager beginnings of saving my allowance to buy fabric and borrowing my mother’s sewing machine, I grew to costuming myself, friends, and other actors for a variety of rolls and Renaissance festivals.

My love of history has always influenced my sewing, and was the inspiration for branching out from Medieval and Renaissance costuming to Victorian and Colonial costuming. I’ve also made forays into modern clothing from the forties and fifties.

Over the years my hobby outgrew itself. I doodled costuming designs at my day jobs. My fabric collection started requiring its own room and furniture soon after I left for college, and I owned more sewing books and magazines than I owned DVD’s. I made myself dozens of costumes, though I didn’t have enough venues or occasions to wear them.

When I started talking my friends into letting me sew for them, because I had more ideas in my head than I could make for myself, I realized I should pursue a business in sewing. In June of 2011 I opened Tailor of Two Cities and have been actively building it since, with the dream of leaving my day job to do what I love.

Hi, I’m Deborah Billingsley, the one woman show behind Tailor of Two Cities. I've been sewing for 13 years, mainly historical costuming. When my hobby overflowed into my everyday life I started the Two Cities shop.

Welcome to Two Cities Supplies!

This is where I clear out fabric I'm not going to use in my main shop http://tailoroftwocities.etsy.com. I update the shop every week or two, so check back for new fabrics and trims.

Occasionally I dig into the fabric collection I inherited from my Grandmother, so some very nice vintage materials show up now and then.

My shop is based out of Norman, Oklahoma. If you live in the area I'd be happy to have you pick up items at the studio, rather than pay for shipping. Also, sales tax will be added to any order for Oklahoma residents.

Accepted payment methods

Accepts Etsy Gift Cards and Etsy Credits
Returns and exchanges
I refund on a case by case basis. If you are looking for a refund please convo me as soon as possible, and I will do my best to work with you.

I do not offer refunds for fabrics based on slight variations in color. Every computer monitor shows color slightly differently, and I can't be responsible for the settings on other computers.
Payment
I currently take paypal. If you need an alternative method of payment, please convo me and we can work something out.

Oklahoma residents will be charged sales tax.
Shipping
I ship everything via USPS priority mail. I ship on weekdays, except Tuesday. Your order will ship out in 2-3 business days, depending on how busy the shop is. Most orders ship out within 36 hours.
