#WIPWednesday: stitching up a birthday card while thinking about how pretty the yarn is. Then reminding myself that I dyed the yarn too! Sometimes being crafty is really fun :)
Having WAY too much fun with leftover scraps of our hand dyed yarn, using it to make adorable hand-stitched Valentine's Day cards! So many colors, beads and designs to choose from!
Time for a new WIP! It's Firefly Thursdays with Jayne's hat, a Rebel IPA, and casting on a new project in our Not All Necromancers yarn.

About

A Mother, A Daughter, and Two Grey Dogs

Two Grey Dogs Designs (2GDD) is a mother-daughter collaborative between Brianna and her mother Bronwen. The original idea for this shop started when Brianna received a fascinating gift from her parents- several skeins of yarn each paired with coordinating jewelry.

At the same time, Brianna had begun experimenting with hand-painting yarn, and Bronwen had taken up jewelry-making. Then, they realized they could combine forces and create original, funky, creative gifts for others!

Bronwen now creates jewelry from locally-purchased (and often locally-sourced) beads out of her studio on the coast of Maine. Bronwen also hand-paints unique wooden beads for her pieces. Brianna dyes out of her home in the suburbs of Boston.

And the two grey dogs? Brianna's family has owned schnauzers for as long as she can remember (and before!). The latest duo of grey dogs are (Dropkick) Murphy, almost 8, and (Flogging) Molly, age 7, Brianna's standard schnauzers. In addition to being outrageously smart, funny, lively, dedicated, and compassionate, the contrast of their collars against their fur is what inspired Brianna to begin dyeing in the first place. It's only fair, then, that credit goes to the source, and Two Grey Dogs Designs is born!

  • Brianna Olson

Owner, Maker, Spare-Time Co-Owner, Dyemaster, Two Grey Dogs Wrangler

Brianna is one half of the Two Grey Dogs Designs duo. She hand dyes all the shop's yarn at her home in Greater Boston, while working full-time in Boston. A knitter of 15+ years, a photo of her two grey dogs inspired her to begin dyeing yarn.

  • Bronwen Bamford

Owner, Maker, Co-Owner, Jewelry Maker, Schnauzer-sitter On Demand (actually, Just A Hint Will Do It)

Bronwen is the other half of Two Grey Dogs Designs. When Brianna's new colorway samples arrive, ta-da!, in her mailbox, she creates coordinating jewelry. Happy with paint but rather rubbish with needles, she's learning to knit while her beads dry.
