My nephew loves his new shirt! The store owners were very kind and worked hard to get the item out immediately so I could give it to my nephew on his birthday! I'm very impressed and appreciative!

About

Letterpress so Yummy You'll Want to Eat it! [the eating of paper goods is not recommended]

Founded in 2005, Two Tone Press began in a spacious bohemian loft among the industrial brick warehouses and train-yards of Kansas City’s West Bottoms district. We are a letterpress studio that specializes in a colorful aesthetic focusing on designs that incorporate bold typography and custom illustrations layered upon intricately patterned backgrounds. We use this vision to create all manner of printed products from wedding invitations and business cards for clientele to posters and fine art prints for consumers by means of a centuries-old technique of relief printing. We aspire to innovate beyond the traditional look commonly found in letterpress printing through the use of hand-carved elements and unconventional materials such as textured wallpaper, fabrics, and other found objects. These printed surfaces create a rich backdrop for every piece individually crafted by the studio.

Over the years, we have grown from a modest studio in the corner of that rented warehouse apartment to a full-service letterpress print shop that houses four rare vintage presses.

Although renovations are still under way. Our end goal is to have a fantastic store front and offer hands-on workshops to the public in addition to all of our current offerings (e.g. business cards, wedding invitations, posters, greeting cards, postcards, etc). We also offer (for credit) internships to students looking for experience.

A little bit o' history...
----------------------------
Established in 2005
Two Tone Press started out as a quaint loft-based studio in the heart of Kansas City's West Bottoms [the industrial brick warehouse & trainyard area]. After a few years of word of mouth success, we soon grew out of our space and need to expand. That expansion led to purchasing a two-story brick building in Midtown Kansas City. Although renovations are still under way. Our end goal is to have a fantastic store front and offer hands-on workshops to the public in addition to all of our current offerings (e.g. business cards, wedding invitations, posters, greeting cards, postcards, etc) We also offer (for credit) internships to students looking for experience.

Who ARE We???
-------------------------
:: MICHELLE ::
Owner and operator, Michelle Dreher, attended the Kansas City Art Institute back in '99, where she had her first experience with a Vandercook which was like finding a puzzle piece that she didn't know was missing. With a background in both printmaking and illustration, she attempts to create vibrant, colorful pieces that are strongly image-based. In addition to printing for others, she enjoys creating hand carved blocks for posters and fine art prints that allow her to express her own unique sense of delicate patterning beneath a boldly graphic surface.

:: ANGIE ::
A recent addition to the studio, Angie, with her background most things businessy, is determined to whip this place into a well-oiled, finely tuned printing machine as well as shape it into a mini-Letterpress Empire to take over the printing world. With determination, gumption, and a sick love for spreadsheets in hand, she hopes to help Two Tone Press grow into a solid Kansas City landmark. So look out!

We ship internationally!

International customers are responsible for all fees, taxes, and duties/custom charges associated with shipping to their respective countries. We will do our best to provide efficient international shipping, but once a package leaves the US, we have no control over the shipping time. Time in transit estimates are just that - estimates, & all countries have different customs policies and can choose to hold packages for varying lengths of time, in some cases 14-30 days. We cannot be held responsible for items getting trapped in customs in your country. I doubt there will be any trouble with my shipped items, but you never know...
Refunds and Exchanges
I want you to love what you bought, but bear in mind that letterpress printed items are essentially individually hand-printed so there may be some slight variation in color.

We take extreme pride in what we make so if you are displeased, contact us and we're sure we can work something out. We would prefer to do exchanges, but will consider refunds if the situation merits it. You must contact us within a week of receiving the item, however - the sooner the better.

*It does not matter which folded cards you order so you can mix and match. Convo me your custom order and I will post a reserve listing for you.
