5 out of 5 starsI've been searching for a rustic Welsh wool, in a good red for years. I mentioned this to friends who went to Wonderwool. It was there that they met Ellie and recommended her to me saying she might be able to do me a special order. We exchanged a couple of emails and within a couple of weeks I had my dream yarn! It was wound and on the needles within an hour of me opening the package and I can't bear to put it down!! I'm loving every stitch of what will be a very warm winter shawl.

5 out of 5 starsI love this gorgeous hand dyed yarn, and have already started to crochet a shawl for chilly evenings with it. And it’s extra special to know the sheep it came from. I’ll definitely come to your stall if I make it to Wonderwool wales this year. Thank you.

the smallholding..... From the beginning....
Craft from the smallholding on the hill 🏴
A good few years ago now I started finding that I had excessive crafting produce hanging about, that is to say more crafty goodness than gifts to give! I was charity knitting as well, but the pile was growing..... I decided to give Abergavenny Market a whirl on the 2nd Saturday of the month and did that for about ten years!!! I also started to go to a knitting group in Cardiff and someone there suggested Etsy.... so..... I started the Elliefants Etsy shop......
The crafting habit became more diverse as these things do..... I started to sell patterns on Ravelry, and Loveknitting as well as here...... then Jen and I started Jelliebean Yarns......
Now with the advent of the smallholding and children!!! I have decided to bring all the threads into one shop, under one name for sake of my sanity, especially at accounts times!! Hence the name change and the diversification to Tyddyn Bryn!
Tyddyn Bryn yarns are predominantly yarns spun locally from our own small flocks or from other local farmers and all are hand dyed here on the holding.
