I was born in Ohio and have always lived here, my roots are deep in this area. And I started drawing before I was in school when one of my grandmother’s friends taught me stick figures. As a child I found it difficult to just create art whenever I wanted, but didn’t learn the concept of “inspiration” until I was studying at Columbus College of Art and Design. I worked hard and I got my BFA in painting in 2010.

I didn’t make any art for a few years. The idea of pushing passed artistic block with discipline when the inspiration was eluding me, wasn’t something I was interested in. I made a couple paintings and held some shows but my big epiphany happened, as for most, during the Pandemic. 2020.

Many harsh events led me to starting my own meditation doodling business, teaching others and selling my own “doodles”. Over time I had started using meditation and breathing to cross over the artistic block I occasionally faced. Inspiration no longer was an elusive concept only striking once so often. Inspiration was a friend I invited into my life night after night, and it was working for me. For health and happiness, my own and of others as well.

When you allow breathing and the absent mind to create art. It’s important to release the idea of what the outcome will be. Letting go of control can be a challenge, but is a rewarding experience if you try! Setting down the perfectionism torch you’ve been carrying feels so good, I promise.
