Announcement   Welcome! We craft beautiful jewelry for women of today. My designs are meticulously created to bring you years of enjoyment and pleasure. I work in fine silver, sterling, copper, metal clay, and wire.

The chains I create from wire are chain maille weaves. I love the historical significance of chain maille and am fascinated with the process of turning straight wire into a beautiful chain. I think you'll love it too!

I design and make custom jewelry also; let's talk about a special piece just for you.

About

Passionate about design and creation of uncommonly beautiful jewelry

Uncommon Firings started with my stringing unusual necklaces and selling them where I worked at the time. When I couldn't find truly different settings and findings, I began exploring silver precious metal clay so that I could design and make my own.

The journey then led to silversmithing and metal working and finally to chainmaille. I love to make my own chains from various wire, mixing to create many different looks. The process of moving from straight wire to jump rings to weaving them together in intricate patterns is fascinating and never ceases to engage my interest.

I keep attending classes, buying reference books, DVDs, and learning new techniques all the time. My latest interest has been in enameling to add glossy color to the fine silver charms and components I make.

May we all continue to learn and grow!
