5 out of 5 starsThe photo was printed on high quality paper. The colors are gorgeous. I hung it in my classroom and had students asking about it right away!
About UncoverWonders
Former commercial photographer goes geek
I've seen all kinds of biological material, but one day I wanted to see a sliced green onion under a microscope. Stunned by its beauty, I moved on to flies, bananas, sumac leaves, Lake Superior stones, grape skins, moss, butteflies, moths, whirlygigs, and anything I can explore with the eye of an artist wishing to see patterns, abstractions and light moving over, under and inside. I just love this micro-world to the degree one brother calls me "micro-man." In some ways it's not just a merger of art and science, but science and mystery. What's seen here exists beyond imagination, beyond what is earthly, beyond what we can understand. Why that particular shape for scales on moths and butterflies? Why hair on the wing of a fly? One is left only to marvel at a world so brilliantly and beautifully made.
