Announcement   Welcome to A Little Handmade! Here you will find quality handmade items and craft kits for your family. Most of the things I make focus on Waldorf-style and Waldorf-themed crafts. I make all of the items myself, and I look forward to expanding my repertoire as my two children grow, and I grow with them.

I have grown more as a person since having my first son that I ever have. It wasn't until his birth that I found myself seeking an alternative to the status quo. It was shortly after he was born that I discovered Waldorf Education. It fit seamlessly with my family's desire to keep our footprints on this world small, to focus on local economy and sustainability in all that we do, and our Buddhist studies and practice.

A Little Handmade is an opportunity to do what I love while remaining true to my standards. Creating beautiful objects that can become permanent guests in our home is important to me. I use organic and local materials whenever possible, including local wool, natural dyes, local beeswax, and upcycled or 100% wool felt. Our craft kits are not made from cheap products that aren't sustainable. I want any subscriber to be satisfied with the materials in each month's kit, so I do my best to personalize the kits for each child and family whose life it will touch.

Please feel free to visit my blog, where you can see more pictures of and information on the kits, and you can be sure that this subscription is right for you and your special family member. http://www.alittlehandmade.blogspot.com

Dear Jennifer, the scarf is perfect...the colors are so beautiful and I love the soft texture. Well done! The postcard was great as well...I lived in Telluride in the late 70's and got over to the Ouray hot springs when possible. Hope your New Year is a good one. Thanks again!

Jennifer, my daughter loved the first subscription box! We haven't had a chance to make it yet, but she loved opening it and feeling the materials. Thanks!

Welcome to A Little Handmade, where we offer quality Waldorf-themed craft kit subscriptions and crafts that focus on natural materials, including local and organic products. While centralized around Waldorf traditions and aesthetics, these kits are fun for any child who enjoys crafting and any family who prefers high-quality materials to cheap, plastic materials. Unfortunately, high quality materials are not accessible to everyone all the time, and sometimes the cost of buying the amount you'd need to do one craft can be prohibitive. I hope to be able to alleviate some of that burden.

I hope you'll find what you're looking for here. This shop is a labor of love by me, a mama who strives to do the best for her family and provide an environment and crafts that follow in the Waldorf tradition. Creating beautiful objects that can become permanent guests in our home is important to me.

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
  • Money Order
  • Check
Payment
I use PayPal right now, but I will also accept check or money order. However, I will not ship until payment has cleared, and the buyer is responsible for any fees should the check not clear.
Shipping
I will ship all craft kit subscriptions by the 7th of each month. If you purchase a subscription any time in May, expect the first kit to be sent by June 7 unless other arrangements are made.

For other purchases, I will mail them within 3 business days unless it is a special order, which requires more time. This will be indicated in the item description.
Refunds and Exchanges
If you are unsatisfied with my product, please contact me and we will work out a refund. Since most of the craft kits are labor intensive, I may ask for some or all of the materials be returned with a refund. If a craft kit subscription has been bought, barring being lost in the post, the refund will be prorated by the number of kits already received.
Additional policies and FAQs
i understand all too well that many of us may not be in a position to pay full price for what I am offering here. I am willing to discuss trade of labor or materials for any of my products or for a discount through a special listing. Please contact me privately to discuss this possibility, if you are interested. Note that I only use natural ingredients, natural dyes, and local materials when possible, and I may or may not need what you are offering.
