Unique Miniatures has been creating quality miniatures and architectural castings for dollhouses since 1974. In June 2021, it was purchased and relocated to Wendy’s home state, West Virginia. Unique Miniatures carries a product line of over 330 unique, resin-based pieces, all of which are hand-poured and pulled and meticulously finished. We specialize in detailed and ornate trims, appliques, frames, mirrors, carvings, ceilings, ornaments, columns, wainscoting, and other miniature castings in Federal, Baroque, Victorian and Rococo styles.

Since purchasing UM, we’ve discarded the polyester resin formulation previously used in favor of a more resilient polyurethane compound — one that can still be painted, sanded, filed and drilled. Unique Miniatures has been rebranded and our packaging updated; the resin line has been expanded and now offers additional products and custom colors. And we anticipate even more growth in our second year than in our very busy first one! Customers can look for unique resin products designed just for fairy gardens, original artwork and photography displayed in our best-selling miniature frames, and handmade dolls.

For most of the past two decades, Wendy has worked in the nonprofit sector in a variety of roles, including those in program development and senior leadership; for over a dozen years, she directed a number of homeless housing programs in Allegheny and Washington counties in Pennsylvania. As Unique Miniatures grows, our vision is to empower, create meaningful employment for, and help build financial independence for women – especially those in recovery from addiction and with other barriers to employment. From the day she learned of the opportunity to own Unique Miniatures, it felt like the enterprise she’d hoped to create for that purpose.
