Unusual Fascinators provides a high quality service supplying stunning, bespoke, handmade fascinators for all occasions! Whether it's a wedding, vintage tea-party, burlesque night or for everyday, UF can provide you with unique, high quality headwear.

Every detail on the headpiece is critically hand-picked, down to the feathers and flowers, ensuring only the highest quality materials are used. Each individual adornment is then invisibly hand sewn onto the base to create the bespoke headpiece.

The materials used, attention to detail and quality of construction ensure nothing similar can be found on the high-street. Unusual Fascinators prides itself on being both unique and impossible to beat, whether you choose an existing style or collaborate to commission something completely new.

It's my aim that every customer is delighted with their UF purchase, so here on my policies page I've provided as much detail as I can to ensure a happy transaction every time.

If there's anything you're unsure about, or something you want to discuss in detail I am more than happy to chat to you, either on etsy or by emailing me directly at unusualfascinators [!at] hotmail.co.uk.

Accepted payment methods

  • Pay with Visa
  • Pay with Master Card
  • Pay with American Express
  • Pay with Discover
  • Pay with PayPal
The UF etsy shop has it's own pay-pal account which makes payment quick, safe and secure. For the time being this is the shop's only method of accepting payment as I am new to the retail business.

Payment must be receieved by me before I dispatch the fascinator. Only once payment is confirmed will I send an item.
There are two possible methods of delivery when shopping with Unusual Fascinators:

Recorded 1st Class Post - 1st class post is normally delivered within 2 days. As it's recorded the recipient is required to sign for the package as proof of shipment.

Special Delivery - this method of postage ensures the package is with the customer the very next day before 1pm. This option is advisable if the fascinator is needed for an upcoming event (eg. a wedding) or if the product is worth over £32. The price of this delivery method is more than recorded 1st class, however, it is an incredibly fast, secure method of shipment.

Due to the delicate nature of my produce all fascinators will be packaged using a reinforced postage box with internal bubble wrap protection. This will ensure the safe, secure arrival of a fascinator in perfect condition.
Refunds and Exchanges
If you aren't completely satisfied with your fascinator there is the option to return it for a full refund via pay-pal if you contact me within 2 weeks of receiving your item.

All fascinators are delivered with a large UF label attached via a plastic tag - if you'd like to return your fascinator it needs to be in the same perfect condition as it was delivered in. The tag and label still need to be attached and un-tampered with.

Once you've contacted me and a return has been agreed upon please post the fascinator back to me in it's original protective packaging and the full price of your fascinator will be refunded to you.

If the fascinator is not in perfect condition, or the label or plastic tag have been altered or broken in any way a refund will not be agreed upon.

(These same rules apply if you are returning a fascinator to me for alterations.)
Additional policies and FAQs

Why have you had so little sales considering your shop was made in March 2010?

I've known that I wanted to use the name Unusual Fascinators for my business for a long time. I secured the etsy shop, facebook, blog, twitter and website back in 2010 when I was still in the trial stages of making fascinators. It's only now in the summer of 2011 that I have listed any items in my shop.

Do you make fascinators to customer's designs?

Yes, if a customer contacts UF with a description or picture of the style they wish to have, UF will work hard to build a fascinators that meets the customer's requirements. Uf will send visual designs/ideas/photos of trimmings so the customer can see what UF is making.

Are all fascinators made to individual orders?

There are fascinators in the UF shop which are ready for direct purchase. If a customer wishes to have something made that is custom they can contact UF and discuss fascinator design for something individual. This may be a minor adjustment to a fascinator style in the shop (eg. a change of flower colour, style, amount) or it may be a completely individual design based on the customer's direction.

How long will it take to make my fascinator?

That depends on the design and whether I have the trimmings in stock. If I need to order anything in then delivery time must be accounted for. The customer will be given an estimate of delivery time. Additionally, if the customer informs UF of a realistic date the fascinator is needed by UF will work hard to ensure the fascinator is made and dispatched before that time.

What are your price ranges?

UF prices are comprised of the cost of materials and labour time. For example it is going to take longer to sew on 100 individual feathers than to sew on 5 large flowers, this would increase the price of labour time (UF charges £10 per hour worked on the fascinator). Additionally a fascinator that involves a high amount of vintage jewellery is going to be more expensive than one that doesn't. Prices start at £25.

Do you agree on a price before accepting a custom order?

Absolutely, UF will not create a fascinator until the customer is completely satisfied with the design and a price has been agreed on.
