Turning old bikes into new opportunties

Welcome to my shop! I make art from discarded bicycle parts and donate 75% of my profits to charity.

Our family hosted an orphaned teenager from Ukraine during Christmas 2013 through a program called New Horizons For Children (nhfc.org). It worked somewhat like a foreign exchange program crossed with a foster program. Our family paid for her travel expenses and incidentals like a bed, winter clothing, and other things for her to have and use while she was here; she spent several weeks learning English and feeling the safety, security, and love of a family. When she left we sent her home with purchased luggage full of supplies for her orphanage. Unexpectedly, she also took our hearts! We then pursued an international adoption over the next 7 months. We brought our new teenage daughter home to the US in September 2014!

While I started this shop to help pay for our own family’s Hosting and then Adoption fees, I've really gotten into it as a creative outlet and a way to repurpose materials that have finished their lives on functional bicycles. And since we’re still passionate about orphan care, we now use 25% of profits to sponsor other children for hosting through the New Horizons For Children program (http://nhfc.org) and provide for physical needs as identified by orphanages that partner with NHFC (http://nhfc.org/%20orphan%20care%20fund/).

In addition, I strongly believe that bicycles can change (maybe save?) the world in many ways. I've started to donate another 25% of my profits to World Bicycle Relief, as they help provide bicycles to some of the people and areas most in need of these miracles of transportation.

And during this time of pandemic and medical crises, I am donating 25% of my profits to the Center for Disaster Philanthopy's COVID-19 Response Fund (https://disasterphilanthropy.org/cdp-fund/cdp-covid-19-response-fund/) in order to do my small part in helping coordinate relief efforts for those who need it most.

I'm a mostly-stay-at-home-dad with some ideas and some bike parts! I started my shop to help pay for our hosting and then adoption of our amazing daughter from Ukraine. Turns out this is a good creative outlet for me!

Shipping within the US is by US Priority Mail, so usually you get your item within 3 days of shipping, most times within the same week of your order.

International shipping often takes up to 2 weeks, and unfortunately Tracking only seems to work up to the point of Customs unless it's going to Canada. But in my experience so far, packages to Europe, Mexico, and Australia usually arrived within a 2 week window. I you have questions, please ask before ordering.
