This is so beautiful...like a princess would wear. The quality of the sewing is first rate. I have several of these cheongsam, and I think this is the prettiest one of all. I hope Julie will be able to get more brocade to make more of these dresses. She's an excellent seamstress. I'll keep coming back!

About

It all started with a needle and some thread....

I began sewing when I was eight years old during a sleep-over at a friend's house and was instantly hooked. My first projects were clumsy stuffed animals and a quilt for my cat made lovingly by hand out of whatever fabric scraps and rags I could find. Seeing that I was bitten by the sewing bug, the Christmas I turned ten my parents bought me my own sewing kit and I was over the moon with happiness! When I was eleven I attempted my first machine-sewn projects -- stuffed animals for my infant cousins. Thirty years after I first picked up a needle and thread, I'm still sewing. Sewing is my safe-haven. I lose myself in the act of creating and find that all of my day-to-day stress melts away. Sewing brings me to my happy place.

Frequently asked questions

Custom and personalized orders

I accept custom and personalized orders on an individual basis as my schedule permits. I require a nonrefundable, 50% down payment for all custom orders, with the balance due within 3 business days of completion (listing the order). If the balance is not paid within that time frame, I reserve the right to sell the item. Returns are not accepted on custom orders. This return policy includes embroidered Christmas Stockings.

Items crafted in my non-smoking, dog-friendly home

No one in my household smokes (I am extremely sensitive to the smell of cigarettes), but we do have dogs. Upon completion, each item is lint-brushed, placed on a hanger, covered in a plastic bag, and suspended from a hanging rack. I take every precaution to keep my items free from dog hair and pet dander, but cannot 100% guarantee they will arrive without a stray hair on occasion. Also, all of my items are created in my craft room far away from strong smells like cooking odors.

Processing Time

Unless otherwise noted or a custom item, all items actively listed in my shop are already made and available for immediate purchase. I ask that you please allow 1-3 business days processing time, though I usually do my best to ship items out the next business day.

Return Policies

I accept returns on items as long as they are not on sale, not sold as seconds, and not custom orders, and I receive them back in the original condition in which they were sent out. I even allow "buyer's remorse" returns. You must contact me within 5 days of the delivery and mail back the item(s) within 14 days of receiving it/them. Please open your package and inspect it upon arrival to ensure your return requests falls within the 5 day contact window. The buyer is responsible for all return shipping costs, and must supply the seller with a tracking number. Your refund for the cost of the item, minus shipping fees, will be refunded upon inspection of the item(s).

"Holding" Items

I do not "hold" items for people as I've had one too many occasions where I held an item, only to have the person never follow through with the purchase, thus resulting in the potential loss of a sale while the item I was holding was deactivated. If something in my shop is sold before you are in the position to purchase it, please contact me for a custom listing. I may be able to make that item again just for you or make something similar.

Incorrect Shipping Address

If you have entered the incorrect shipping address, please contact me immediately via Etsy Conversations. I will cancel and relist the order so you may repurchase it with the correct address. As a seller, I am not protected through Etsy Seller's Protection if I mail a package to an address other than the one you used when you made the initial purchase. If you realize you have given me the wrong address and I've already sent the package, it is your responsibility to contact the post office to see if they can reroute the package, and to pay any additional fees associated with doing so.

Coupon Codes/Sales

I rarely offer shop-wide sales, as I strive to keep my prices competitive while factoring in the time, materials, and expertise required to make each item. I offer coupon codes on occasion. most of which are sent directly to customers -- generally with their name attached (ex. Ashley10) Etsy's technology does not currently "protect" these coupon codes from wider distribution from apps which search for and curate them, such as Honey. At this time, I cannot honor coupon codes found through an app if I haven't personally issued to you. I apologize for any frustration this causes. Coupon codes are never valid on sale prices or anything listed as "seconds" inventory, as these items are already marked down to the lowest possible price.
