Welcome to my shop!

Urban Knitfits was born in Portland Maine in the fall of 2009. We quickly set up shop here and began to knit and knit away, perfecting some of our custom items and inventing and creating new patterns.

I- Abigail, am the primary Knitfit, but I occasionally sell items by my talented fellow knitters from our little knitting group.

I love knitting fun and fashionable items, custom items are even more dear. As an MFA artist, I love one of a kind art and one of a kind knit goods, so you will see individual unique pieces in my shop!

I primarily work with eco wool (which smells lovely like rosemary and earth- it's a knitter's thing!). I strive to be green in all aspects of my life and I want my knitting to reflect that as much as I can.

I also have another shop- www.grayday.etsy.com and I manage two other shops as freelance work.

After getting my MFA,I moved to Portland from Phildaelphia in 2009. I've joined a local print shop and hope to have some fresh art in my grayday etsy shop soon. I would love to do this full time!

Convo me with any and all ideas. We can knit pretty much whatever you can imagine!

***Live in the Portland, ME Area? I'll gladly arrange to get you your knit good without shipping. Part of U.K.'s BUY LOCAL Portland Pledge! (convo ahead of time so I can change the shipping!)
