About

Handmade Geeky Goodness!

I'm a geek - yes, you heard me right - I'm loud and proud to be a geek. I've been one my whole life and if you're checking out my shop here on Etsy - then you're probably a geek as well (and I mean that in the nicest possible way).

I've also been a crafter my whole life - but have never been happy making traditional craft items - I always seem to find an Ewok, Klingon, or super hero sneaking its way into my creations. About 10 years or so ago I discovered Etsy and also discovered that there were other like minded people out there that would rather have a necklace that says "Hobbits are Hot" than one with diamonds or pearls - and thus the sharing of my geek crafts began.

I also have a huge case of crafting ADD - and love to learn new techniques and try new craft mediums. If you ever have insomnia and want to browse through all my sold items over the years here at Etsy you'll see what I'm talking about. My items have changed as I have changed. I started selling pins made from recycled books and magazines, moved to some speech bubble necklaces, ran out of the parts for the speech bubble (one of these days I'll figure out how to make the parts myself), moved into collage art with spoons, learned how to screenprint, moved to image transfers onto vintage brass lockets and now doing some digital art printed on vintage dictionary pages. What’s next? Who knows, but the things that always remain the same no matter what I’m creating are my love of books (even though I don’t mind cutting them up which horrifies many of my fellow book lovers), my love of using vintage and recycled materials and my geekiness.

Oh, and just to explain some of the photos of me on this page, they are me with celebrities I've met while vending at conventions (like Stan Lee and Jonathan Frakes). While several of them have enjoyed some of my creations, they are in no way shape or form endorsing anything in my shop – I just wanted to share my geek joy over meeting them.
