I love the yarn you sent! It worked up perfectly for a class I took in tablet weaving. When I figure out what I want to do next, I'm sure I'll be ordering more!

About

You Never Know What You'll Learn Today

Back in college, I had a part time job working at Wood Lake Nature Center. Every time I came in, I had no idea what I was in for. The senior naturalist always had something new and interesting planned. She'd say, "Today twenty school children are coming in and we're teaching them to snowshoe. Have you every walked in snow shoes before? Here, put these on and practice before they get here." Or there was, "We're cooking up snacks from natural plants today. Go out and pick some cattail roots. Use this poker to break the ice." Boy scout groups would come in, bird watchers, all kinds of groups. She always had something interesting planned. One day we went out and picked plant leaves to dye yarn with. I remember picking a bucket full of mint to soak overnight before teaching a class the next day. She gave me a copy of the handout she'd mimeographed. I still have it and I'm still working with plants and plant dyes after many, many years. So you never know what you'll learn today or how it will serve you in the future.

I love color. Not knowing exactly what color you'll get from natural dyes is part of the appeal. In addition to nature's colors, I also work with chemical dyes just because I enjoy playing at being a mad scientist. (And who hasn't wanted to be Professor Snape in Harry Potter?) I sell commercial yarns as well because sometimes you just need something that will be the same color every time you buy it. Enjoy the yarn!

Payment
Pennsylvania's new tax law: All items shipped from PA must charge PA tax (Point of Origin sales tax). At present, there is no tax on food, shelter or clothing. Yarn is considered a raw material for making clothing. Therefore no sales tax. Books and tools are taxable and have the tax included in the price.
Shipping
Items will be shipped within 3 business days after receipt of payment. All shipping is via US Postal Service. Items under 13 oz are shipped first class post with delivery confirmation. Packages over 13 oz are shipped parcel post within the US, but still qualify for first class international. Items over $50 will be insured. If you prefer a different carrier, please contact me.
Refunds and Exchanges
Please contact me within 14 days if the item does not meet your expectations. This includes shipping damage.
Additional policies and FAQs
International orders:
In order to keep costs low, most items are shipped first class international. Typically that means shipping takes a week or less to Canada, two weeks to Europe and three weeks to Australia. However, the US Postal service has no way to track it once it leaves US soil. Other airports are notoriously bad at logging the information into the database. If an item fails to reach you in 30 days, you have a choice of replacement or refund. And please don't be shy about letting me know if you are worried about a lost package.

If you need an item sooner, convo me to arrange Priority International, which does have tracking and will arrive much sooner for an additional price. Price is dependent on how heavy your order is. Convo me to get a quote and arrange it.
