Great item. I love the brain power used in converting an old item and repurposing it, so it is still valuable within our current technology. I haven't had a a chance to install it but excited to do so. I hope the Bluetooth option works. Cross my fingers...

This guy is so awesome! I was afraid it wouldn't come in time for my husband's 30th birthday and they sent it very quickly and with plenty of time to spare! THANK YOU!!

This is amazing! I am so happy with this purchase. Jack does an incredible job cleaning and modifying these classic pieces into high-tech functioning art! It even came with a fresh ribbon, for the true vintage experience. It's simply gorgeous!

This item works great, but I ran into some difficulties while putting it together. Also, it was supposed to come with the cables I needed to use right away. So after a few hours of hard work I couldn't even test it! I had to go out to the store to buy the cable, and emailing with the shop owner was met with no response or help. So, it works but not sure I'd buy from this shop again.

Yeah, It's awesome. Programing was a bit of a challenge but that was on me. Don't rush and realize it may take a few attempts. It is all very well designed. Brilliant really.

I bought a 60s era typewriter and this kit turned it from a fun thing to have to something I use every day. I use it with my iPad and it works great.

A Groundbreaking Advancement in the Field of Obsolescence
The idea for USB Typewriter all began in late 2009, when I found a clunky old Royal typewriter on the side of the road. After a little spit polish and elbow grease, I was really amazed by how pristine this machine was underneath its century's worth of rust and dust. And even more amazing: it still worked!
Typewriters are just really beautiful and elegant pieces of technology -- timeless, really -- and it struck me as sad that they have been forgotten and neglected, especially since most computer stuff today is so disposable and utilitarian. People love typewriters, and lots of people have them on their mantle or in their attic, but there is just no place for them on a modern computer desk. So, with the USB Typewriter project I am trying to rescue typewriters from garages and attics and put them to use again.
In my Etsy store, I sell a range of lovingly restored USB-enabled typewriters, and also a do-it-yourself kit that adds a USB port to any typewriter.
