Handmade gifts & accessories to treat yourself and your home

I can't quite remember how old I was when I first picked up a needle and thread. One of my earliest memories is stringing together berries that I collected from a shrub in our front yard. It was before I moved to California, so I was definitely under the age of 5!

After making gifts for friends and family for many many years (for the holiday season, birthdays, hostess gifts) I decided to "get serious" about my hobby and channel my love for gift-giving into a line of accessories that are fun to give and receive.

Many of my ideas come seeing an everyday item and the desire to try and make it myself or put my spin on it. Other times, I think of what would be useful and fun for a hostess or for updating one's home decor. And in the past few years, I've become an aunt to some adorable nieces and nephews...which is opening up an entire category of gifts that I want to make for them (they get the prototypes, and final products will make their way into my shop).

Although I am a trained seamstress, I have a love of all crafts and want to try my hand at a lot of things - embroidery, beading, jewelry-making, tatting, crochet....Although these items may not end up in my shop, they may make an appearance in my blog:

Hi and thanks for stopping by. I've been sewing and doing crafts for as long as I can remember, and in those early days I mostly made clothes for myself and my family. Eventually I branched out into home decor, especially during traditional gift-giving times of year - pillows, candles, holiday decorations, tablecloths, etc. In high school, I got involved with making costumes for our theater department and eventually worked for several professional theater companies while in college and after graduation.

A self-proclaimed fabric hoarder, I find a lot of gratification in upcycling fabrics that can no longer serve their original purpose, and I tend to source home decor fabric samples, swatches, and remnants that would otherwise be destined for the landfill.

I love creating and am constantly learning new crafts and techniques - I've experimented with crochet, tatting, beadwork, needle-felting, embroidery, reverse applique, and jewelry making. Sewing, however, is still my true passion, and I bring quality work and attention to detail in every piece I make.
