    Another beautiful custom note card letterpress printed with hand set type. These are so gorgeous and make the perfect wedding gift. We always need more thank you cards than we plan for.

    Vandalia Street Press is a letterpress print shop in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Printing a line of greeting cards that are inspired by nature, simple ideas and subtle humor.

    With a background in design and marketing, and a BFA in Painting and Photography, it was sort of a side step for me to think about printmaking. Not that I’m a printmaker - I’m an artist really, with many curiosities. But let’s face it, who can deny a beautiful old letterpress in need of a new home? Not me that is for sure.

    And that is how it all started.

    It was in 2008 that I acquired the first press. And frankly, it really frightened me. Will I lose a finger? All my fingers!!?? What did it mean for my artwork and how could I do something meaningful with my new 800 pound friend. I began designing cards while learning the ins and outs of the press.

    Today I have two presses and a little print shop tucked inside a beautiful book
    bindery. Vandalia Street Press has become a dream come true for me. A business that allows me creative freedom in both the card line and in a new series of art prints. I also do custom printing for design studios and clients. I’m able to balance art and business in a way that I never thought would be possible.

    I hope my card designs and illustrations will bring a bit of joy to those who receive them. Perhaps a giggle or two, or to know that someone is thinking of you can make all the difference in someone’s day.

    ​Vandalia Street Press started on Vandalia Street in Saint Paul. The first press was a Chandler & Price. It was all very exciting and new.

    I have a BFA in painting and photography and had never really thought about printmaking. I've always made weird little postcards and ditties that I would mail to people. So naturally, a line of greeting cards seemed like the perfect introduction.

    I designed a line of greeting cards and went to it. That was five years ago and boy have I learned a lot.
    
    Vandalia Street Press is now a two press show. The C&P and one Heidelberg Windmill. I print artwork, greeting cards, kitchen art, and some custom work - I even taught myself a wee bit of screen printing. I use polymer plates, metal dies and linoleum blocks. I mix my inks by hand. I love it!

    My designs are inspired by my love of simple shapes, subtle humour, landscape, and a little bit of rock and roll.

    Shipping
    VSP ships via USPS First Class and Priority. If you wish to have your order arrive faster, or would like insurance or confirmation, please convo me. Sometimes, a birthday is coming up and you need to get that specific card to them - let me know and I can often ship same day if the order is placed early enough.
