I am a self-taught artist with a passion for painting colorful works of art.

To quote Jeff Goins, "The job of an artist is to offer a sanctuary of beauty to an ugly world." That is the "Why?" of my story as an artist. I want to create beautiful artworks that offer respite from the difficulties of life and momentarily lift your spirit.

Drawing and painting has been a part of my life from as long as I can remember. I have worked in all media including pencil, charcoal, oil paint, watercolors and acrylics. My subjects have included portraiture, still life, and florals.

Recently, I began a new adventure learning and painting non-objective art, a type of abstract art that is usually, but not always, geometric and aims to convey a sense of simplicity and purity. I have combined this style of painting with my passion for flowers, floral and organic shapes.

I also ventured into creating digitally remastered and embellished wall art as downloadable art prints.

MORE ABOUT ME

I have spent the majority of my life working and living in three of the largest cities in the United States. Concrete, pavement, brick, brownstone, steel, over-crowded streets, mass transit and grid-lock was the norm.

Flowers gave me release from stress after my daily commute to work. At the start of each workweek, I bought myself a large bouquet of flowers to place in a vase on my desk at the office. Glancing at them during the day and smelling their floral scent was a delight.

Now that I am retired from my 9 to 5, I find joy and fulfillment in painting colorful floral and non-objective abstract works of art.
