Announcement   Hello! This shop is for bags, wallets, hair clips, and the like in random designs and sizes!

Most are made from recycled materials. Because I seldom buy fabric...I reuse fabric!

I also make things using materials procured during my trips to Sierra Leone, West Africa.

And, if you're looking for adorable felt finger puppets, you can find those under The Phantom Asthmatic section.

I like anything that is unique, happy, or absolutely NOT-boring! I hope this translates through to my pieces.

For every purchase made, 50% of the profits will be donated to various organizations working in Sierra Leone. Specific information is available in the listing.

About

Vauvani

The name Vauvani comes from the Finnish word for baby. Originally, when I was about 12, the name was created to reflect my designs -- which featured mother and child elephants.

Now, for me, the name has taken on a deeper idea. The bags are created with the purpose to bring awareness to the forgotten children of Sierra Leone -- many of whom are missing their own mothers.

I want every forgotten child to be remembered. To know that they have value, worth, and importance.

My bags are created from my thoughts. They combine the things I love: they are happily colorful, ecologically friendly, and each contain a glimpse of Africa.

Most are made from recycled materials. Because I seldom buy fabric...I reuse fabric!

For instance, I will use the bag that contained the rice I was eating last night to make the outer shell and the strap on a new bag. And the lining comes from an old sheet or curtain with an interesting design.

I also make bags using materials procured during my trips to Sierra Leone, Africa!

I like anything that is unique, happy, or absolutely NOT-boring!

I hope you enjoy my bags!
