About

I'm an Artist and Illustrator based in Leeds, UK.

Welcome sweet friends! :)

I’m Vee, and I am a North Leeds based artist and illustrator.

During the day I work from my studio in Chapel Allerton, Leeds, (often accompanied by my cat/partner in crime, Chubby). I work with ink and watercolour to illustrate different portrayals of natural scenery, wildlife, animals, characters and critters. I love to draw, make and paint things that make people smile or evoke a playful story or childhood memory.

My inspiration is collected from my ongoing admiration of animals & nature, storybook imagery and memories of childhood. I truly believe that creativity is infinitely beneficial to our mental health, and being able to gather together my inspiration and tap into my imagination to tune into a different world through my work has certainly got me through some difficult times. I hope it can bring some light to others too.

I also co-run weekly drawing and art workshops with my close friend and artist Lo Whitehead as part of our joint creative business- Lo & Vee. I believe that we all need a creative outlet in our lives, whether it be making or admiring, gardening, sewing, drawing, painting, fashion or writing. As long as you’re using your imagination <3

**Why I choose to donate to mind**

As a person who has a history of mental health issues I understand completely the importance of this charity. “Every year, one in four of us will experience a mental health problem. But hundreds of thousands of people are still struggling.”
“We believe no-one should have to face a mental health problem alone. We’ll listen, give you support and advice, and fight your corner.” – www.mind.org.uk

• Mind provides help and support directly to those who need it most.
and has a network of more than 140 local Minds offer specialised support and care
based on the needs of the communities they support.

• They are also developing national and local support networks for anyone experiencing a mental health problem.

• They believe everyone with a mental health problem should be able to access excellent care and services and should be treated fairly, positively and with respect.

• Mind campaigns on a range of issues including health services; legislation; protection of legal rights, and employment.

• Mind offers a range of national and local services including workplace training to develop mentally healthy offices, applied suicide intervention skills, Mental Health First Aid and bespoke training sessions.

“We provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. We campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding. We won't give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets support and respect.” – www.mind.org.uk
